The Newlyweds Love Them!
I purchased this set for a couple who was getting married. They are beyond happy with the set and love the elegant simplicity of the dishes.

Great dinnerwar set
I use this set for my nicer dishes and I love them. They hold up well and I can put them in the dishwasher. I love how they are pretty neutral and I can coordinate other colors with the set depending on the occasion!

Love these dishes
We love our Kita dishes and serving pieces! Every time we have company we get compliments on them. They are functional and stylish and go with everything so you can change it up with colors for the different seasons! Highly recommend them!

Definitely agree that it stains with red things like tomato sauce. However, it easily comes out once you run it through the dishwasher if it even stains. We have just rinsed them after eating like I do with all dishes and there have been no issues. I would still recommend these plates since I really love them. I have combined them with some bowls from the Nuit collection and I love it!

We received this set for a wedding present. I love the simple and modern look of the dishes. They will match any color scheme. We use them everyday and they have been very durable. As other reviewers have said, the plates do stain with red sauces. However, the stains completely come off in the dishwasher.

Great Dinnerware
I love this dinnerware set. It's sleek, modern and beautiful. I love the detail and that it goes with many of our existing dishes. It's easy to clean, and even food coloring came out. There's only 1 downside, a few of the little plates have cracked a little in the microwave.

DONT BUY! cups stain, bowls break, dishes chip
We registered for this set when we got married 5 years ago and I just had to completely replace everything with a different set of dishes.
On a good note...Crate and Barrel was amazing with their customer service!
I originally had 12 place settings. I was down to:
1 bowl
9 dinner plates
6 salad plates,
7 cups.
All of the 7 cup I had left were grossly stained with coffee in the "crackle finish" inside. Embarrassing to give to a guest because the cups looked dirty.
The crackle finish (which makes it look beautiful) is what ends up making them break in the end. The crackle turns into a crack and then the plates/bowls just crack in half.
Don't waste your $ on this set. Buy one of the other beautiful sets that Crate and Barrel offers (with good reviews)! I love C & B...just not the Kita dinnerware:)

Disappointed Bride
Choose something else!! My husband and I were excited to get a complete and matching set of plates and we wish now that we would have picked a different set. With in one year the awesome shatter affect (that we fell in love with) has actually created cracks in 80 % of the set. We followed the care instructions and we are gentle with our plates. We have no children and do not have dinner parties so they have not had much or extreme use. Please save yourself and pick another set! Trust me!

Poor quality
My husband and I received this dinnerware for a wedding gift last year. We have had them for a total of 4 months....yes, only 4 months and I have already had to replace three of the plates.
My suggestion is not to go with this set - they have not held up well at all and keep cracking down the middle with any temperature change. The plates are the main culprit, but I have had one bowl do this as well.
So needless to say, our first set of dinnerware already needs to be replaced in less than 6 months of our marriage.
Save yourself time and money and choose another set.

So disappointed
This was part of our wedding registry, 4 years ago. Within the first year or so, I started to notice major cracks running down the plates and bowls. Not minor cracks, but the actual plates separating into two. Inevitably, I would find myself taking a plate out of the dishwasher or cabinet in pieces. I returned countless items to C&B, but it got to the point that I don't even want the hassle anymore, and I am no longer replacing. I have two bowls left, three mugs, and just a few plates. I am looking for a new set elsewhere. As another reviewer wrote, I expected my wedding dishes to last if not a lifetime, at least to my five year anniversary.

Chips and cracks easily
I'm very disappointed with these plates. We bought them when we got married about 4 years ago (had them on our registry, and bought them with the registry discount). Since then several of these plates have chips on the edges and 3 of them have cracks down the center. According to C&B these plates are dishwasher safe, but I have found that because they are so delicate, if you put them in the dishwasher you will certainly have chipped and cracked plates. The quality of these plates are extremely low and although they look pretty, they are not worth the price.

broke my heart
These went onto our registry as soon as we found them. The dishes are lovely shapes, colours, and apparently quality. But...
They stain quickly, unless you chug your coffee and snarf your food, which I more or less accepted because I loved them so much.
However, after about 4 years of fairly gentle use (two of us had mugs and salad plates for 12 and only occasional dinner guests), they begin to crack: our mug handles began dropping like flies and the salad plates split down the middle. I have never seen anything like it and we now have about 6 each.

Good dinnerware set with some minor flaws
We registered for and received 8 each of the dinner plates, cereal bowls, and 4 of the now discontinued small square plates. I inspected every piece upon arrival for structural cracks and only found one dinner plate to have a crack. C&B promptly shipped me another one and we actually have 9 dinner plates as the cracked one hasn't broken all the way thru yet.
I immediately noticed that the quality of the square plates was different from the rest of the set and should have returned right away. The ceramic feels cheap in comparison, like buying a cheap ceramic mug that winds up burning your hand off because it can't handle heat. I did not return them and now 2 plates had pieces break off and 1 is cracked to the point that it is unusable. The fourth one still exists but I know one day it's going to go. I don't know if the rectangular platter is made similarly to these plates or not, but just a warning. If the product seems sub par to you, return it.
Otherwise, two years down the line and we still like the dishes. I broke one bowl and another had a chip pop out along the side (not the edge) of the bowl. I'm going to take the chipped one in someday and get a replacement. The plates have all fared well.
We have had occasional staining from red or oily sauces. I've learned to immediately rinse/clean out the bowls after use in those cases. Then they can sit awaiting the dishwasher cycle without staining. The staining that has occurred faded and disappeared over time with use and washing.
Other than the square plates that I knew I should have returned, these dishes have help up and still look nice.

Great dishes
These are very simple looking a have a subtle design. They go with everything. The only issue I've had is that the coffee mugs are little small and the handle is too small. Otherwise, I love the dishes and would still recommend the set regardless of the coffee mugs.

Great plates and bowls!
My husband and I registered for this set for our wedding and five years later, we still love it. It's our daily dining set, but it looks elegant and modern when we have friends over for lunch or dinner. One tip: do avoid the microwave, as the cups have cracked a bit due to heating up liquids in the microwave. The serving bowls are nice and big and I've used them for homemade ramen soup.

Gorgeous Dinnerware
I'm a newly college grad and just moved into my first apartment. I wanted nice dinnerware but also something practical. This set is beautiful. It goes with everything and its timeless. The dishes are durable and can be used everyday.

Great Everyday dinnerware
Love this set. We registered for this set for our wedding. Great neutral design for everyday use. Be sure to rinse right away as I have noticed pasta sauce will stain plates and will need to be washed a few times to go away.

Beautiful, but very poor quality
I never thought by our 4 year anniversary we would need to replace our dishes due to breakage, staining, and visible embarrassing cracks on our dishes. These dishes WERE gorgeous but with everyday use, with just two of us in the house they performed horribly. I would not recommend these dishes at all. I have exchanged a few dishes but even those have visible cracks. My parents have had the same dishes for 40 years and they have MUCH less damage than we have on our dishes that we've had for 4 years. I would expect more from your dishes...

Pretty but fragile
We requested this dinnerware for our registry. Within 1 week of unpacking the set, we exchanged it all for Roulette dinnerware (which we love).
Two salad plates cracked in the microwave within 30 seconds. One bowl stained with red smudges within the course of a short meal.
