Nice looking placemat
These placemats are good looking and very versatile. The clean up is easy - just run them under warm water. You can use a sponge and mild dish detergent for sticky messes.
Since the weave is open they won't protect the table from spills, but they will protect it from scratches.

beautiful placemat!
I purchased one of these placemat's recently to try on my dining room table and I will be returning to buy more. The pearly color is very elegant and adds a nice touch to the room. The quality of this item is very good, however they are fragile, but as I am using these purely for decoration I am very pleased. Great for spring/summer!

huge placemats
I have a round table and should have measured because these mats are so big they overlapped each other and took up too much of the table. They are also not as metallic as the name "platinum" would imply. A very dull gray in my opinion.

Wipes clean, looks professional grade
You have to love Chilewich! I see their placemats in restaurants all the time because they're so versatile-- just wipe them clean when your meal is finished. These mats are a lovely neutral platinum, so they'll coordinate with just about any other neutral place setting. The only thing I'd say is that the napkin matches recommended here aren't great. Ivory napkins make matching white dishes tough. I'd suggest black.

More beautiful in person!
I registered for four of these napkins without having seen them in person and was pleasantly surprised with how beautiful the fabric was. I may need to buy several more! The shine and texture is very much like dupioni silk. The color is so creamy and a good neutral to go with any color scheme.
