Rated 1 out of 5 by Pearlie from Cheap, CHEAP, Cheap! My husband and I were so happy to finally have a dining table that even the lacking grey wash couldn't shake us. Although not as pictured, the deal breaker was the huge crack down one of the legs only 2 days after delivery. I heard the crack when it happened which is inexcusable given our humidifier strategically placed next to it. We have no issues with our other solid wood furniture. I was hoping the other reviews citing crack issues would not have applied to us, but obviously this table is cheaply made and should not be sold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gracie from Happy CustomerI have a large family and have been searching for an extension table for some time. I wanted clean lines and not a bulky heavy looking set. This is beautiful. I am so pleased with this purchase. The wood and finish is beautiful. Looks identical to the online photo.

Rated 4 out of 5 by katiemiron from So far so good!We had this table delivered over a month ago and are not experiencing any of the issues described in earlier posts. I will continue to keep an eye out for any cracks or splitting in the table and chair legs, but as of now it is in perfect condition. The color of the set was a bit different than I expected, a bit more orange than I would have preferred, despite the gray wash, however, it still looks great in our dining room.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ElleValentino from Beautiful to look at but low quality...I was so excited when I saw it in store and thought what a bargain for $599 and matching chairs for $99. When it arrived, the leaf had a chip in it, revealing this was in fact veneer finish and not solid sungkai wood as indicated by C&B. We got a replacement, but the new one was even more defective than the first, with one of the leaf locks broken and wood cut unevenly. In general poor craftsmanship. We are returning the table and chairs and C&B customer service has been great so far. I really like C&B and will continue shopping there but don't recommend buying this particular item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by murphy_123 from great style, poor wood choiceMy husband and I looked high and low for the perfect farmstyle table for our new house. We LOVED this one and the chairs were very comfortable too. 1 chair arrived cracked, this was replaced without issue. Within 3 months of arrival our new dining set, multiple cracks appeared; deep cracks in the legs and also in the table top. It seems this tropical wood is prone to cracking, we wish this table style came in hardwood instead of tropical. Even though this dining set did not live up to our expectations, Crate & Barrel has provided excellent customer service to rectify the situation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by hollaej from LoveWe have had this table for over 3 years and it wears extremely well. It is very versatile and can be dressed up for fancy dinner parties or down for every day use. I am sad that this product is being discontinued, we bought additional chairs recently to complete our set and will be really sad once this product is gone

Rated 2 out of 5 by Katie6 from Wish I loved this more than I do ...We purchased the extension table, four side chairs and three counter-height stools (which were previously available) just about a year ago. The style and neutral wash were perfect for our new home. The first table delivered to us had a split in the wood of one of the legs, but Crate & Barrel promptly replaced it. The replacement table has no splits in the wood, but the wood has always seemed somewhat soft. It scratches rather easily and tends to show impressions from things like a child's booster seat. Also, the grey wash on the tabletop has almost all but disappeared. We gently clean this table with a soft cloth dampened only with water; however, the stain on the tabletop has completing lifted in some spots and everywhere else is now more of an amber/honey tone instead of the grey wash. I have been noticing this for a few months, but the wearing away of the grey wash was made extremely apparent when I recently put the extension leaf in the table. We use the leaf only on rare occasions when we need additional seating, so it has maintained the original grey wash. Now, the leaf sticks out like a sore thumb in between the two sides of the tabletop that have lost the grey wash. With the leaf in, it looks like we have a giant grey wash stripe in the center of our table. The chairs and stools are still holding strong, though there have been a few times when we've heard a loud cracking/popping sound when sitting down. It sounds as if something has surely split, but we can't see any visible damage. I don't know that I wouldn't purchase this again, but the issues I mentioned above (especially the wearing away of the grey wash on the tabletop) are certainly things I wish I would have known prior to investing in this set.

Rated 1 out of 5 by idtgal from DisappointmentAlthough the table looks great at time of delivery, the "solid" wood began bubbling on the table surface and the space on either side of the leaf has warped to a 1/4" gap. Having to put a table cloth to prevent food falling through defeats the purpose of the table.

Rated 1 out of 5 by danielleb908 from so disappointedWas so excited to have this table in my home after it was delivered, but I have had to exchange it four times - twice for peeling and twice for a huge split in the leg. Although Crate and Barrel was great about EXCHANGES, for the money spent, it is not worth the headache and frustration. Don't know what to do now. Wonder if Crate and Barrel will allow a return.

Rated 1 out of 5 by DADG from Poor QualityTen days after receiving the table five out of the six chair seats developed large cracks, one of the table legs began to split, and the table top sides were developing cracks. The table is very nice looking but not of sufficient quality to be worth it. I do not recommend this table and chairs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Olivia S from Gorgeous but Poorly MadeI was incredibly happy with my purchase. The table is beutiful, the grey wash is elegant, and it looked very sturdy. I have only had it for 10 months, with very little use and it has a crack and the wood has stared to warp on the top and is uneven. Be aware of the return/refund policy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jan17 from LOVELY!The Kipling grey extension table was the perfect choice for a client's new home with a large kitchen and great room extension. The color is a greyish brown, which goes beautifully with both today's popular grey tones as well as the warm hues that a lot of people still have and love.Paired this with both the Kipling grey chairs and with two off white slip-covered chairs for each end...stunning!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hobnail from Great Table! My wife and I both love this table (it was one of our simplest buying decisions). The washed finish (looks just like the picture) and solid construction tie in perfectly with the hard wood floors and brick fireplace in our smallish dinning area. It's a perfect day-to-day table with 4-6 chairs around it, and great for the holidays with the leaf and a few more chairs added. If you have a large dinning area, you may find the table a bit narrow, but for our space it's perfect! Also, we had to wait about a month for the table (the wait was worth it).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jen O1 from Looks PerfectWe purchased the kipling extension table, buffet, and buffet/hutch for our dining room. It is the one thing people always ask about when they visit. We did wait a significant amount of time for the table (at least 3 months). However, customer service was very helpful and once it arrived we knew it was worth waiting for! I recommend the gray wash since it looks unique and it doesn't show nicks and scratches as much as the dark version.
