The Story

Rustic and modern unite using reclaimed Peroba wood with refined mahogany in a unique design. Seguro has an ebony-stained mahogany frame and a warm mosaic of planed peroba wood in a natural palette of amber, chocolate and fiery tones. Three central drawers are recessed to allow passage for the sliding doors, which conceal four adjustable shelves. Slender mahogany bar pulls on doors and drawers keep ornamentation to a minimum. Designed for media management, this versatile piece functions equally well as a sideboard or buffet. Each piece is unique.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Segura 68 Media Console I bought this 4+ years ago. I have 3 problem: (1) most annoying is the inability for the remote to work unless the door is open where the cable box is located. (2) Even though I rarely ever use the drawers, the top-drawer handle came off & will require a handyman to repair. (3) the sliding doors come off track easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the versatile look and great storage I have been redecorating my apartment in a blend of rustic and modern. This was the perfect piece and has blended perfectly. And the storage is fantastic. So many media cabinets are missing drawers but this one has a great flexible mix of storage options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow just wow Looks beautiful, even looks great on the bare floors (flooring was supposed to be down before delivery). A quality piece, very well made. Plenty of room for all the paraphernalia associated with media center and internet tv hookup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful piece! We bought the Seguro 68" media cabinet (cafe coloring, not the black frame) about three months ago and it has really brought out the best in the room it's in. Wish Crate and Barrel could have the manufacturers do a sideboard or cupboard (around 38" high) in this style as it would complement the piece I have so well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE THIS PIECE! I purchased this piece a month ago and it has exceeded my expectations. It fits my 60" TV perfectly and the colors really bring together all my other living room pieces. Happy I bought it---it's more beautiful in person!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great console and customer service! I bought this 2 yrs ago and love it! After about a year there was some problems with the black finish on top fading in some places but customer service was great and they replaced it. I haven't had any problems with the new one and it's been a year. I think the first one I got just was just defective. They way they handled it definitely made me feel better about furniture from here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magnificent! Terrific piece of furniture in terms if beauty, utility, and quality. This is a true " media center" - there are small contours at the back of the unit to run/hide cables. I get a lot of compliments on this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still one of my favorite pieces! I bought this cabinet a few years ago and it is still one of my favorite C&B pieces. It has maintained a lovely look thru the years and has held up well to my son's video game controllers being tossed on the top of it. Great storage! The only source of irritation is that you really have to make sure the cabinet doors are completely shut prior to trying to open the drawers, but that is my issue really. I recently moved and this cabinet was just a tad too big for the space that was allotted for the media center in my new home. I purchased another C&B unit and moved this into another room. Looks gorgeous there too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sophisticated, Functional & Well-Constructed This year I purchased the Seguro 68" Media Console, Bordeaux Coffee Table, Steamer Bar Cabinet and Shadow Box Tower. I couldn't be happier. The furniture is substantial and well-made. My local store in Detroit did not have the Seguro console in store and I was afraid that when it arrived, it would be too red or too brown to blend with the other three pieces. Not to worry - the case on the console is very dark, practically black, and looks well with the metallic neutrals color scheme in my living room. Crate and Barrel has been my favorite store for some time now and I've always been a satisfied customer. I can't recommend these pieces enough.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stunning console We were looking for a console that would keep everything hidden and hide the masses of cords behind it, so one with legs wouldn't do. I'd actually had my eye on this for many years. I looked around for other options before we bought this, but this was just the most beautiful and I felt like I'd regret getting anything else. I have a mid-century modern style with a few more rustic accessories (like a vintage beverage crate) and this is the perfect style to go with it. Plus, I try to buy things that are eco-friendly in some way.In person, the reclaimed wood is actually darker than in the photos. I'd personally prefer it a bit more like in the photos, but it wasn't enough of an issue to have me choose something else. I'd recommend that you go to a store and check it out in person if you're not sure. I had to look at the matching coffee table as this itself wasn't in the store. The one thing that almost made us choose a different console was the lack of ventilation in the back. There's just one hole on each side that's about 4x2 inches long. My boyfriend had just bought a fancy new receiver, and he would have liked more ventilation for it. The Marin console has tons of ventilation, so it would be great if they had done something more like that in the back of this piece. We just didn't like the looks of that as much.We got a little IR extender kit so we could use our remote controls with the doors closed, but my boyfriend will leave one of the doors cracked at times to give his receiver some more air. He's going to buy a little fan to go in the console to push warm air out the hole in the back. When we had this delivered, the delivery guys were messing with one of the doors. I assumed they got it fixed. When they left, I tried sliding it open to start setting it up and it was dragging very badly. I had read in reviews that you can adjust the height of the door with a screwdriver, so we took the door off and tried to do that. Well, turns out the screw to adjust it was totally stripped. The delivery guys must have known that and left anyway.I called up customer service and they told me they'd replace the whole thing as sometimes new doors don't match the rest of the piece. It was on backorder so it took a couple of weeks to get the new one. When those delivery guys came, they brought in the new console and offered us the option to swap consoles or just the doors. We decided we liked the one we had more as the other one had a gouged out area on the drawer that I didn't like as much, so just swapped the doors.I will also mention that both sets of doors we had had a light surface scratch on them. This was not a scratch in the reclaimed wood, which would be understandable, but a longish scratch (or several) in whatever they seal the wood with. In both cases, it wasn't really noticeable from far away. I noticed it when we were setting it up and then could make it out from the couch if I looked carefully in certain light. It wasn't bad enough to return the piece, but I'd just say that they should be a bit more careful about quality control especially at this price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from After a year, warped and completely unfunctional I bought this piece over a two years ago. The piece is no doubt beautiful and I enjoyed it thoroughly for the first few months. Then, however, after maybe six months I noticed the reclaimed wood drawers started to bow. Perhaps this was because I live at elevation (Denver) where the air is dry. The bowing became so bad, one of the sliding doors no longer fit within the tracks. I called C&B and they were very helpful, exchanging the doors. However, within another year both doors again bowed, and the drawers are also warped. I am convinced this is the result of the reclaimed wood and the effects of a dry climate. This piece has effectively been rendered unusable and a huge disappointment. Not what one would expect from. $1500+ investment.
