Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheaply Made I bought this bunky board less than a year ago. A couple months ago it started to make popping and squeaking noises upon doing any movements in bed. It became so unbearable that I had to take it out and replace it with real boards. I should have done this from the beginning, since the boards I purchased were just $83, firmer, and make no noise.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheaply constructed and squeaky. As other reviewers noted, this product started causing a loud squeaky noise every time I got into bed. It didn't occur to me for a long time that the cause of the noise was the bunky board, but after removing it the noise is gone and I noticed that the product is cheaply made with cardboard and the cardboard has dips in it where it has bent. The mattress is more comfortable without it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It was perfect... until the noises started. I bought the bunky boards in October 2014. I got the Tate bed, which is a slatted platform bed, and my memory foam mattress wasn't thick enough to prevent me from feeling the slats. I thought the bunky board would provide enough of a platform to fix that. And it did! The bed looked better, it was a little easier to get out of because of the extra height, and I couldn't feel the slats. But then in January, I started hearing the squeaking & creaking. I'd read the reviews and thought surely they must've fixed the problem by now, but no. Here's the thing though: I didn't contact C&B about it until March. I didn't think they'd do anything about it, since I've had them for 5 months now. I thought at best, they might replace them, and I'd have a few more months before the new ones started creaking again. But I fired up a live chat, and after explaining the problem, Crate & Barrel immediately offered to let me return them for a refund. I've bought a lot of furniture from them, and I appreciate that they're willing to make good on a defective product. Zero stars for the bunky boards, 5 stars for customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Made - Good Height Adjuster We recently bought a new Pillow Top mattress that came with a "normal" height foundation - no option of a "low profile" foundation. The result was a bed so high our old cat could barely jump up onto it. The bunky boards lowered the bed to a purrrfect height. The boards seem well made and we've had no issues with creaking as some reviewers have stated - had the boards for about two and a half months and we are satisfied.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from no seriously, it's just cardboard... Let me begin by stating, I love Crate & Barrel furniture, and have been a "heavy user" for many years now - so it's surprising to see that C&B's $179 bunky boards are literally just cardboard wrapped in cloth. What's so supportive about cardboard??? And yes, they also squeak a lot, so you'll probably start to get real annoyed like I did, which led to me to look 'under the hood' - only to discover - they're just cardboard...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the right fit. We purchased these to go along with the new Crate & Barrel mattress we had purchased as a way to raise the bed just a little, but when they arrived we found that they are extremely this, and am not sure what purpose they serve other than being a barrier or sorts between the bed frame and the mattress, which when used still keeps the bed sitting extremely low. The description should reflect that this setup will only work with a very few select types of bedroom sets. At least the return was easy to handle, except for the fact we had to pay to ship them back, which is a bummer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Six Month Review We have owned the product six months and, so far, no creaking or squeeking. It does raise the mattress about five inches and it is much easier to tuck in blankets and quilts at the end of the bed for that nice, modern platform bed look.Good purchase so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Addition!! Here is the deal, I was shopping for a bed (got the Dawson) and my sales person (of whom was awesome) was telling me about the benefits of the bunky board. He actually has the same bed (if he doesn't, I really don't care)but he had told me about his experice and the bunky board makes it easier to tuck in sheets/blankes/comforters or what have you. It also gives added height to the mattress. ALL OF THIS IS TRUE!! I don't notice any squeaking or any flaws. I am very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product This was and is a great idea, I believe it helps ove the long haul, I research alot of others, but this one is (Class), first it's construction is great and than it's cover well, without it you can't tell, but with it - it's a whole new world NICE.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Returning these I love C&B quality, generally.  But these are just a terrible value.  They look bad under the mattress and add almost no height.  Really just pointless.  Spend the money on a topper or something else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Construction, caused warping in our mattress We bought these because our mattress warranty required we have a solid foundation under it.  One year later, one bunky board is totally warped and so noisy (pine boards warped and cardboard is all wrinkled). Warped so much that it caused lumps and bumps in our mattress.  Crate and Barrel is taking care of us (great customer service- quite helpful and very friendly), however, I would not recommend this product- it seems like poor construction.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Want to stay up all night long? I do not recommend this product. Poor construction and squeaks loudly all night long with even the slightest movement on the bed. You'll see it on the curb for next trash pick-up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well Helped to give my bed a more firm feel. I'm very satisfied with the purchase! And I haven't had any issues with the sound or quality of it like some of the other reviewers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Noisy I purchased this for my king sized Colette Bed. It provides support and raises the mattress, BUT the squeaking and creaking is insane. It started with an occasional small creak weeks after we got it and has progressed to the point of any movement causing loud creaks. I have had this for less than 6 months. If noise bothers you, DO NOT buy this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY I bought these for the Collette bed in 2011. At the time the reviews were good! Not sure if anything changed but these squeak and creak horribly. Everytime someone rolls over in bed or gets up, both of us wake up. Blamed our sleeplessness on small children but kids have been sleeping through the night for a while now and we're still exhausted. Tried flipping them around to see if that would help but it doesn't. Looking into others or just going with plywood.
