The Story

Create an entire wall of storage and display with our popular leaning storage system. Sturdy media stand has three shelves concealed inside a cabinet outfitted with sliding doors, cord management and ventilation slots. Components fit inside the cabinet, with a 41"-wide space for a flat panel TV; store DVDs and CDs in the upper divided cubbyhole. Bookcases with five gallery-style shelves flank the media stand on both sides. All-wood construction with a dark java finish secures against the wall for maximum stability.

Sloane Java 43.75 Leaning Media Stand with Two 18 Bookcases is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from No space behind for cables Because of a few power cables behind the central media console, the center piece can't push back against the wall, which keeps the angled upper part from aligning with the bookshelves.I'm not sure why they even put holes in the back of the console, if the back has to touch the wall in order to be flush with the bookshelves. With no space at all behind the console, where am I supposed to run the cables to power my TV and connect it to the boxes inside the console? And god forbid there is a cable jack or a power outlet behind the console, as is my case. Even with right-angle plugs, there is still not enough room to push the console back.Assembly was simple, it took me about 3 hours by myself, although as already stated here, there were a few cases where the pictures didn't match the actual piece.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks good, tough to put together This looks great now that it is all put together. As others have commented, however, we found it very difficult to put together. It took forever. I would suggest devoting a whole day to figuring it out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful and sleek! After two years of pining after this piece, my husband and I finally got it- we are SO happy with it!! Originally we wanted the grey color, but seeing it in person, it just didn't look like $600. But the java looked very rich in color and just.. Beautiful. Luckily we were able to make that work with our living room- but note to C&B: we really wish you would have had a better dark color. Now, putting this together is a giant pain. All of the reviewers were 110% right. We recently got married, and with that meant a lot of furniture buying and putting together. This was by far the worst. Some of the pictures in the manual were not correct and we had to figure it out as we went. That alone would have made this process a LOT easier. Also, while I highly appreciate the stickers that say "left" "right" "top" "bottom" (really, it takes a lot of guess work out), they are the worst stickers to ever use on furniture. I had to use Goo Gone on every sticker and one sticker actually took some of the finish off. Please C&B, fix that on your products. It was no fun. My only other compliant was that attaching the bookcases was a huge pain and almost impossible to do like the picture. They really didn't line up perfectly like I would have liked. Again, we're pretty proficient in putting together furniture, so it's not like we didn't know what we were doing. It wasn't horrible, but not perfectly aligned. All that said, we're still really excited to have the piece in our home. It's beautiful and very sleek. Fits perfectly even in our little apartment. Stop reading reviews and stalking the website- go buy it! You won't regret it! Just heed my advice and prepare yourself for a full day's work of assembly and you'll be fine :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from sloan media stand This is a beautiful piece and we love it. The only problem was that it look a very long time to put together. I would definitely recommend paying to have it installed.
