The Story

Start with a great base. Top it off with an amazing top. Voila—the perfect table. Hot-rolled steel frame supports with clean simple lines, hand-welded and ground at each corner to create a raw, torched millscale finish. Gorgeous wood top is handcrafted from repurposed teak from Southeast Asia with variations in wood grains, texture and color, knots and other naturally occurring characteristics that add to the distinct character.

Teak Top/ Natural Dark Steel Base Parsons Dining Tables is rated 2.7857 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok It is solid teak, but not solid 1.25 thick. The boards are about 3/4 and bevel cut and glued to an edge to make it look thicker. I am equally disappointed... for price a few reclaimed boards would be nice.Finishing is a hassle as well. would not get again

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy this if you plan on actually using it I'm super bummed about this table. As a long time fan of C&B I've always told everyone, just man up, pay more, and get the best stuff.I did that again with my dining table, only to be let down big time. It's pretty much unusable. Anything that touches it stays. That little speck of tomato sauce that flew off your noodle? Yup, it's now going to stare at you for eternity. I'm spendings more time cleaning this thing than eating on it.Another huge let down was that the pictures make it look like solid teak boards. I figured I could get out my mouse sander and blast off a layer down the road if ever needed. Nope! It's a super thin layer of teak on top of something else. I'm way past my return date since I don't live at the property and never had a chance to actually use it. Hoping C&B lets me swap the top out for something I can use. The table is beautiful, but not useable. Get yourself a different top for sure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Solid Wood Top I bought table. It is a nice table, but top 1/4" is veneer. This is NOT a solid teak table. Pictures make it look like a SOLID wood table, but top is 1/4" veneer tap. Plus, you will have to add a waterproof varnish to protect against stains. Too expensive of a table for it not being solid wood.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks Great I bought this table with my husband about a week ago. We live in a studio in Brooklyn, so the size was perfect for us. We have only eaten two meals at the table, and it already has a few stains on it. We didn't have any issues with water, but we had a slight butter problem... The man who sold it to us told us to wipe it down with soap and water to clean it. It didn't really do much. We'll see how long the nice look lasts, but so far, it's a great table.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great small table Bought this table for a small dining space in our Condo, fits perfect and adds a nice industrial look. So far the table top has held up great, we are looking into oiling it with teak oil to help maintain the wood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful with a little prep... Yes, it's unsealed. I used marine-grade teak prep and then oil. The table is beautiful and does not stain...water etc. wipes right off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Teak Table = cracks and stains galore Well, we love the LOOK, but seriously, this table stains so badly. We don't have kids, but unless you want to cover it with a table cloth (lol) or glass, it just will stain. Everything that falls onto it stains it. CB - it's just not realistic to sell a dining room table with zero sealing. Also, the first top they brought had cracks and a chip. The second they brought cracked more in the weeks after. They have been REALLY nice about letting us exchange the tops, and offered to bring a third one in May, but unless I figure out a way to seal it, I think I'll have to cancel the order and pick another top.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great table, maybe not the kid-friendliest though? We bought this table about a year ago. It matches our home and the space perfectly! I love the rustic yet modern aesthetic. Sturdy and I think quite accurate to the online photos. However, I was concerned from reading other reviews that stains would be an issue (we have three children under 5yo), so I've kept it covered the whole year with a clear tablecloth. It's a little tacky (the clear tablecloth), but the table still looks great and it is still visible and attractive through the tablecloth. Honestly I don't know what table could stand up to three young children - I've never seen any table of any material go unharmed by little ones. Especially if it's the family table. We're happy with the purchase and will just continue to protect the table until the kids are older (in around 15 years, I guess!).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Kitchen Table I purchased this for my small kitchen eating area. I sealed it with two coats of teak oil and it is holding up beautifully. The teak oil brought out the rich colors of the natural teak and protects the table top from moisture stains. I am very happy with my purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stains Insanely Easily You breathe on this table and it stains. The wood they used for this table absorbs everything and gets discolored. Even if you spill water on here it begins to look discolored. Crate and Barrel should be ashamed they are trying to pass this off as a dining table. It might make a good desk, but stains way to easily to put food/drink anywhere near it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from desk not dining table I got this table as a desk which works perfect. It's very true that it stains very easily because the wood is unfinished. This wouldn't make an ideal dinner table. The construction is built very well otherwise and is very strong.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Check this table out in store first We bought this table from CB website few days ago and just delivery yesterday. Very disappointed. We bought many CB items (usually in Pasadena store) but never feel like this before. In description, CB said this table has "teak top" with "repurposed teak " but it's actually just a VERY VERY VERY thin teak layer over some woods. You will never see it from photo.Just go to store and look at the corner and the bottom of table. You will know what I'm talking about. It feels very shallow compared with previous thisendup solid wood table we have.Lesson learned: Photo lies. NEVER buy furniture without seeing it in store.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unsealed tabletop gathers stains I've had this table for just a few weeks and have quickly realized that the unsealed wood absorbs and retains every tiny drop of liquid that spills on it leaving stains. This product is not really designed for everyday use. It may look good but is impractical. I am contemplating getting the table top sanded and sealed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty, but maybe high maintenance for use witkids Our new table is gorgeous, but I'm struggling to get soup stains out of the table. One little spill, and we've got a serious discoloration, not to mention the little hand prints lining the edges. The C&B staff was so considerate in recommending I NOT purchase other tables (marble, for example) because they'd be too high maintenance, so I'm surprised that this one passed muster. My dad built me a similar table for about a fifth of the cost of this one, and it has held up for years. If anyone can tell me how to get grease marks off the surface, I'd appreciate it. The C&B care instructions say to use "powder," but I have no idea what kind. Should I have sealed it first? Again, care inst. are unhelpful.
