Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a keeper! This grill pan was a great addition to some of the other cast iron pans we have already purchased. I was looking for something that would provide grill marks, even cooking, ease of care and durability. This pan fits the bill. It's great for chicken, beef, grilled cheese and even paninis if you purchase the sandwich press as well. Very durable and you will be able to depend on this piece of cookware for the rest of your life. Great quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for the broiler This is a medium-sized pan that will easily fit four burger patties, corn, or a couple of medium fish filets. It has allowed me to do some very nice "grilling" in my small apartment. As expected for cast-iron, it is quite heavy, which is good except when trying to move it quickly (you will need two hands unless you are very strong). Food does not stick when the pan is preheated then lightly oiled (canola oil spray works well). I have had great success using the pan as Mark Bittman suggested in his broiling article (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/31/dining/31mini.html). Just preheat the oven generously (I do 500 degrees for 5-10 min) with the pan inside, spray lightly with oil, add the food, then broil. Food does not need to be flipped (unlike with a broiler pan), as the pan itself is piping hot. Actually does create pleasing grill marks on the bottom of the food sometimes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality / Low Cost I love Lodge cast iron products, including this grill pan. It's better than the previous non-stick one I had. Conducts heat better. I also like the lower, angled edges, though careful that you don't slop whatever you're cooking over the edge. Easier clean up for me. I'm part of the camp that doesn't wash my cast iron with soap. I'm all about scraping/rinsing off residue and being done! Reminder that you need to dry cast iron immediately, no air drying. Also rub a small amount of olive oil on after it is dry - your pan will stay seasoned forever!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome pan! Purchased this as a Christmas gift for a friend and she totally loves it. I bought her the double griddle as a birthday gift and she uses that one on the stove and she used this pan inside her cast iron BBQ pit. She was taken back by the weight of the wrapped box but once she saw the famous C&B writing she immediately knew it had to be cast iron product. This is definitely a good buy for any friend who loves to cook.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great grill pan! We got this grill pan last summer, and we use it all the time! We live in an apartment, so having an outdoor grill just isn't an option. Lodge cast iron is great quality and a great price too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great alternative for apartment with no grill Summer is always grilling season, and since I don't have a grill this is a fantastic alternative to have the summer foods I love. Cooks burgers and chicken wonderfully.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love cast iron!! I have owned this pan for several months. In the beginning everything stuck. The more I cooked on it, the better the release came. I always wash with hot water only, dry and oil immediately

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product! We can't have a grill in our apartment so this is a great alternative on the stove top. Just be sure to clean it quickly or food will stick pretty easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite pan! I live in a condo and can not have a grille. My fiancé loves the steaks, chicken, pork chops etc I make with this pan. I made a rack of ribs last week on it for the first time and they were great! Just make sure to clean it properly and re oil

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Grill Pan I bought this pan a month ago and I use it several times a week. I love it! My daughter likes her meat broiled and not grilled but I just remodeled my kitchen and I'm not broiling meat in the new oven this soon - not even for my kid :) I started using this pan to cook her steaks and she hasn't said a thing obviously she doesn't know the difference. The pan is easier to clean than a broiler pan in my opinion and anything I have cooked so far tastes great. Definitely worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pan! We love our cast iron grill! Here is how I was taught by my mother to clean cast iron. Scrub under hot water - do not use soap and do not let it sit in the water. Dry the pan off and put it back on the stove on medium high heat to evaporate any extra moisture. Turn off the burner and coat with vegetable oil while it's still hot. We've been doing this with all of our cast iron and have never had any problems with rusting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a lodge cast iron product, so its quality cannot be in question. C&B decided to sell a high quality product and it is about the best you can get anywhere. One thing to note is that they claim the pain comes "pre-seasoned", and while it does appear to have a glaze it is not pre-seasoned. The fact of the matter is, you are going to have to truly pre-season this pan to have it operate properly.
