Overview
Annika Rimala, who served as chief fashion designer of Marimekko for more than two decades, embarked on an assertive, more confident design era in 1963 with Tarha ("farm"). The loose, scrolling motifs and dotted background marked an increase in intensity and scale. These elements defined her iconic dress prints of the 1960s, which brought bold character to the simple silhouettes of that era.
