Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great knife I love the Wustof knives...however after I purchased it, I discovered it was on sale at their competitors for about 30 USD less. Unfortunately, I purchase the knives just before I left the country. Oh well...I guess this is why you need to shop around for pricing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE Chef's Knife to own It is perfectly weighted and the handle is so comfortable! I was able to cut potatoes and carrots with ease, as well and parsley and garlic. It is the perfect do-it-all knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Chef's Knife I love this chef's knife. The first time I used it was on a watermelon and it sliced through it so nicely and evenly - I was amazed. My old Cutco chef's knive always seemed to angle off to one side or ther other when slicing anything. I had to guide it to get an even slice. Not so with this Wustof Classic Ikon 8" Chef's Knife. I'm treating it with much TLC - I want it to last forever!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT knife I do not often write reviews, but I had to say something about this knife! I purchased the price for my partner for Christmas. What a difference a good knife makes! From the weight, to the way it fits in your hand, and then to the way it cuts effortlessly this knife far exceeded my expectations. The knife is used almost daily and has really added to our joy of cooking. Purchase it and you will not be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great knives! We bought three knives to start replacing our older collection. They feel, look, and cut great! There's even a representative who visits the store once in a while to sharpen (although we also bought a sharpener). Knives are like toilet paper, you get what you pay for. Would highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Set for Beginner Chef I bought these knives as a gift for my daughter who is sharing an apartment. She has become interested in cooking. These 2 sizes looked to be the most serviceable for a beginner cook, rather than buying a full set. I liked the idea of the knife sharpener included so that she can easily keep the knives in top shape. I can't yet say how they will hold up over time, but they seem to be well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ergonomic and sharp the most important thing about a good knife is the way it fits your hand (the blade is important too, but if a knife doesn't feel right you won't use it, so I think the grip is most important). I find this Ikon grip to be the most comfortable out there. Plus it is a Wusthoff which has great steel blades. I have a Shun knife which I like as well but more often than not, I reach for my Wusthof because of the handle. It just fits me best.
