The Story

The easy, eco-friendly way to fire up the grill without chemical starters. Crumpled newspaper is the fuel that gets the coals going, then you simply pour them into the grill. Aluminized sheet metal chimney features an ergonomic grip handle.

Fire Up the Grill
The cone-shaped aluminized sheet metal design exposes more briquette edges to the flame, so the coals get hotter, faster—perfect for smoking meats like brisket and ribs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this item!! I bough two of these chimneys and they are stellar!Totally cuts the time in half for preparing the charcoal.Just add two full sheets of newspaper crumpled up into the bottom, fill the chimney with charcoal and light. It really couldn't be any easier. If you have the Weber Original 22" Charcoal Kettle Grill I would recommend that you purchase two chimneys as I did maybe even three. We cooked 6 jumbo cheeseburgers and 8 kebobs. Perfection. :)You will not be disappointed. Thank you Crate and Barrel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 minute startup i found youtube videos detailing chimneys. this one is perfect, small fire that burns very hot, then when dumped fuel is added, sometimes hardwoods for extra smoke. the unlit fuel smokes, and lighting this is easy, just throw paper under it, light it, let it burn a bit throw some more paper, let it burn a bit throw some more, and go inside for 5 minutes to prep the food. my neighbors got these, my friends got these. they figured out fluid is HORRIBLE at starting a grill, and gives charcoal a bad wrap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made chimney starter This works great- but I was also surprised and concerned at its smaller stature. If you have a larger grill, this one isn't for you. We needed a new Webster anyway, so we downsized to a smaller kettle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing The BBQ enthusiast should definitely purchase this

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mans gift We received this as a wedding gift (I had to add some "manly" items to the registry) and my husband loves it! Our old one was a little bigger so my husband was a bit skeptical due to its smaller size but he was wrong! The first time we used it the BBQ pit started right away.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too small for basic charcoal grill Bought this for my husband last year. It would be perfect for a small portable grill. Since it didn't hold that many coals, I ended up buying a larger sized one for our kettle grill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super, but small It does not hold much charcoal, and I did not know what size a Smokey Joe Grill was and as another reviewer said, yes it is small, because of that. Glad I bought two because it gave me enough coverage to grill some veggies.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I will Buy this Though it is smaller than my previous chimney, I am going to purchase this. It look much better made than the cheaper version that is bigger. The entire piece is better made than what I had last year. The metal is thicker, the design is better. I'm looking forward to starting bbq's longer than 2 years from now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just right This smaller chimney is just right for my Weber Jumbo Joe. It is the perfect size for the amount of charcoal I need and I can place it in the grill without hitting the sides which would happen with my larger chimney.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well of course this is small... Well of couse this is small, its designed for the Weber Smoky Joe grill. (just like it is written on the label) If you are cooking on a bigger grill, such as the Weber 22.5 kettle, then you need to buy the standard weber chimney. I bought this for my Smoky Joe and it works everybit as good as the bigger one, only with less charcoal capacity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best by far The Weber chimney starter it the ONLY charcoal starter that has a cone shaped bottom. The rest are flat & basically non functional. If you want one that works, buy the WEBER.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too small While this product functions just fine, it barely holds any charcoal. The small amount it does hold is only useful if you are using a tiny travel or deck size grill. It only hold around 20 pieces.
