The Story

Our seriously stylish Orb mixology collection recalls the decadence and nostalgia of vintage cocktail culture to elevate the home bar. Rated 1 out of 5 by from A piece of junk! Cheaply made. I returned this item as the lid wouldn't unscrew.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Decorative Had to have a muscular friend open it for me...afraid to put the lid back on..but it's stainless/brass and will be a nice storage vessel for the kitchen....so it's a good buy for the materials and decorative...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy on the eye, not for use I collect shakers, but I really only use a few. This came up on C&B for a ridiculously low $4.95 so picked one up. Like other reviewers have stated it's a tight fit for the cap and there's no strainer - but for me, it's a nice addition to my collection and the thing has very nice lines, looks good in my bar.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WILL NOT OPEN I bought two of these! I gave one as a gift and was humiliated when it was passed around the guests with everyone trying to open it with no success. We had to get a muscle man to help, and he struggled and struggled. This is absolutely worthless. I will never use the other one to mix a drink in, so it'll go to some thrift store. Terrible product!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Form doesn't follow function I purchased this is a bit of a hurry without reading reviews. It does look nice. Top isn't quite as diffcult to take off as the one review stated, but still more difficult than it should be. I didn't try using it as it's going back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love The Look We love the design and texture of this shaker. We like combining it with the gold jigger, too. The shaker doesn't get 5 stars because it doesn't come with a strainer and we detected a minor leak upon vigorous shaking once. Both are minor things to us, and we'll deal with using the strainer and possibly shaking with a towel. The shaker definitely chills the beverage, though. Very pleased with this purchase!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Furniture designer makes bar tools = fail I am a mixologist with 17 years experience. I am always looking for cool, new tools to play with and thought that Aaron's Orb line of cocktail tools were worth a shot. Unfortunately, I did not read his bio prior to buying the products. He is a furniture designer and this is what happens when someone with no bar experience designs bar tools. The cocktail strainer has a cool design with simplified lines. However, it is worthless when it comes to functionality. The lip to the cup or main chamber has been brushed/grooved horizontally. This means that the cap will not come off easily, as the direction of removal is perpendicular to the grooves in the lip. The seal is very tight and does not leak. However, it is impossible to remove the cap in less than 30 seconds. You have to wiggle it back and forth - and even grip it with your legs to get the cap off. PLEASE no more bar tools designed by furniture designers!
