Sheets, Pillow Cases & Sheet Sets
Choosing Bed Sheets
We spend a significant amount of time in our beds, so it's important to choose sheet sets that are comfortable. You will sleep more easily by selecting the appropriate material for your nighttime body temperature. If you tend to overheat as you sleep, cotton percale may be the right material for you. Look for thread counts 200 or higher to ensure softness and durability through multiple launderings. Cotton percale sheets resist pilling, and they feel cool and crisp against the skin. This is especially helpful during warmer weather. For sheets that transition beautifully through changing seasons, consider linen. This all-natural fabric is highly absorbent, breathable and adjusts to your body temperature. It also has the added benefit of being environmentally sensitive.
Ideas for design
We want our beds to be as beautiful as they are comfortable. For an elegant look, choose white or ivory sheets. This color provides the most flexibility when selecting comforters, blankets and other bedroom textiles. Consider adding subtle visual interest with pillowcases accented with hand embroidery or pleat detailing. To create more of a focal point, try striped flat and fitted sheets next to patterned pillowcases and duvet covers in the same color scheme.
