How does music move you? Recently we celebrated our exciting new partnership with Capitol Records by bringing our collection The Listening Room to life in legendary Studio A.
Co-hosted by Capitol Music Group Chairman and CEO Steve Barnett, Blue Note Record Label President Don Was and Crate and Barrel CEO Doug Diemoz, the exclusive event provided L.A. editors and influencers with a first look at the collection, a behind-the-scenes studio tour and a surprise musical performance.
We also showcased our classic cocktail party style and product, serving Capitol-inspired cocktails (“One For My Baby” and “One More for the Road”) by 12 Bottle Bar mixologists Lesley and David Solmonson and hors d’oeuvres from celeb favorite, Tres L.A. Catering.
Attendees loved hanging out in our Listening Room, especially with the inclusion of Capitol Records 75th Anniversary vinyl. Several admitted to starting a personal wish list.
Our exclusive Listening Room furniture and accessories, curated audio assortment and featured Capitol 75th Anniversary vinyl were a perfect complement to Studio A’s mid-century look. Shelby and Cooper chairs, Aspect storage were definitely crowd favorites.
Mid-way through the evening Blue Note President and famed producer Don Was spoke about the power of music to shape lives and experiences, including his own. He then introduced Blue Note rising star, Kandace Springs, who mesmerized the crowd with her soulful performance. Springs recently launched her first U.S. headliner tour.
Guests lingered to chat, sip and explore Capitol’s historic archive and vinyl mastering rooms. They were also invited to ‘play’ with the Studio A sound board, mixing versions of their favorite Capitol tunes.
