  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 4-oz can diced green chiles
  • 1/3 cup freshly grated cheddar cheese

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Spray an 8x8-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar and salt.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk and egg.
  5. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in the diced green chiles and cheese. Don’t overmix!
  7. Spread the mixture in the baking dish and bake until set in the center, about 20 to 25 minutes.
  8. Let cool before cutting into squares.
