Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cake flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
Rosé Icing
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup rosé wine
  • 1/4 cup dried culinary rose petals crushed

Instructions
Vanilla Rose Doughnuts
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray your donut pan with nonstick spray.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flours, baking powder and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the butter and sugar until combined. Add in the dry ingredients and the eggs, mixing until the batter is just combined. Whisk in the vanilla extract, then stir in the buttermilk until the batter is smooth.
  4. Use a spoon and add the batter to the donut pan until each mold is about 3/4 of the way full.
  5. Bake the donuts for 13 to 15 minutes, until they are set and slightly golden. Remove and let cool.
  6. Once they are cool, dip each donut in the icing and sprinkle with culinary rose petals. Serve immediately.
Rosé Icing
  1. Whisk together the sugar and rosé until smooth. If mixture is too thick, add more wine 1 teaspoon at a time. If it’s too thin, add more sugar ¼ cup at a time.
