Yarn Wall Art DIY

Post by Danielle Kurtz, Creative Director at The Land of Nod

It’s no secret that we adore Jeran of Oleander and Palm. She’s been a long-time contributor to Honest to Nod, and was also one of our Real Family features. When she posted this Yarn Wall Art DIY, we found ourselves swooning over the fact that the DIY was so straightforward, but the results were anything but ordinary. Also, it’s such an easy project to make your own through different color combinations, shapes and sizes. Not to mention the fact that the materials are readily available, and very inexpensive.

So, we invited Jeran to create an installation for our South Coast Plaza store’s windows. You can see more about that here.

But, we just couldn’t get enough of this DIY. So, we decided to make one of our own for the Nod Family Home.

Yarn Wall Art DIY 3It’s the perfect statement piece above the mantle. It adds so much texture, and is at once sophisticated and playful. We’re major textile junkies here at Nod, and are loving the current resurgence of textile art in home décor. If you’re not up for investing in a custom woven art piece, this is a fantastic DIY alternative. Thanks Jeran for the inspiration!

Danielle is the Creative Director at Nod and an over-protective mother of two. She’s also completely obsessed with Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram and her Kindle, but not necessarily in that order. Danielle loves to craft, sew and crochet. Her current craft of choice is weaving tiny wall tapestries.
