Easter Entertaining Tips

This year Easter is truly bringing out the kids in us. Each time our favorite springtime holiday rolls around {with cherry blossoms dancing trough the air}, our neighborhood gathers up all of the children for a block-wide Easter egg hunt and watch with excitement as the kids toddle along searching for speckled and vibrant eggs filled with coins, chocolates and treasures. Easter this year will be an wonderfully memorable experience as it will be Ava’s first! We will be hosting a post-egg hunt brunch and plan on having a bounty of delicious treats and a charming ambiance, all while entertaining effortlessly.

We encourage you to do the same, using a combination of items you have on hand and sweet accessories from Meri Meri found at The Land of Nod. Trust us, entertaining like a pro can be a simple feat. Below you’ll find some of our favorite at-home Easter entertaining tips, along with secrets on how we brought this table top to life for Easter.Easter Entertaining Tips Easter Entertaining TipsEASTER

  • Stage the kids’ table outdoors and make it low. We use a pop-up folding table and rather than extending the legs, we secured it by placing the top of the table on two crates.
  • Instead of cumbersome chairs, let the children sit on pillows {we sewed these using foam pillow forms, layers of tulle and muslin fabric} that can lend themselves to indoor decor when Easter is over
  • Purchase sheet moss from the craft supply store and roll it out on the table for a fun and okay-to-play with centerpiece. Nestle eggs atop the moss and in little silver pails.
  • Clip a few cherry blossom branches for a pop of spring beauty.
  • Water color names on thin strips of paper and curl them with a pencil. You have instant place cards!
  • Think about hosting a light lunch or snack party instead of a lengthy brunch or dinner
  • Using the same water color technique, paint on card stock and use them as Easter fun cards the kids can color on themselves or play tic-tac-toe
  • Use a silver permanent marker to make small dots or stripes on your eggs to dress them up
  • Send the kiddos home with take-home treats in silver pails {the same ones you used on the table can double as decor} filled with goodies
