Add a Fun Twist to our Honeycomb Shelves
Raise your hand if you're in love with Land of Nod's new honeycomb shelves. I mean, they're pretty tops.
As soon as I saw them I knew we had to include them in the kids' playroom makeover. Not only do they look good, but they're great for storing little nicknacks. To add a little color to our white walled room, we backed our honeycomb shelves with patterned papers that were similar in color tone.
It's really easy to do. Just grab some collected sheets of paper and place the shelf on the backside of it (be sure to have your pattern laying in the direction you will want it to lay). Then take a pencil and trace around the shelves.
Next, grab your scissors and cut out the shape you traced. I recommend cutting inside the shape a little. Then simply tape the paper to the back of the shelf and hang the honeycomb shelf on the wall.
I think creating an ombre colored wall would be pretty awesome, too. Playing with backgrounds really draws your eye in, don't you think? To see more of our playroom makeover check out this post that I wrote for Honest to Nod.
