Two kids in one small room? Sure, that can mean twice the noise and half the space. But it’s also a chance to share an adventure that will bring everyone a bit closer together. We’re sharing a gender neutral shared bedroom below perfect for the growing family who may not be too keen on a bunk bed. Whether you’re planning a move down the line for that additional room or assuming the kiddos may someday want their own space, buying separate beds might be the best option.

We started by choosing a clean furniture design for a (hopefully) clean bedroom. The Paxson collection was a perfect fit! Inspired by the simplicity of Scandinavian design, the collection is defined by its clean, linear style. Minimal yet substantially stylish, it has a less-is-more look that will match any of our kids nightstands and will be timeless pieces in your home and beyond.

With furniture selected, bedding and decor are the next to tackle. With any shared space, you want each of your child’s personalities to shine and mesh. If matching bedding is more your style, get creative with wall art! The bold map mural divides the space, makes a statement, and (best of all) is an easily removable decal. Give each of your children a space of their own on the wall, whether it be with a weaving they pick out themselves or some fun print, they’ll love customizing their space with you. Add some wall art clips for revolving artwork and those A+ papers and you’re all set.

What about storage? Well, most likely this shared space also means a shared closet so we suggest investing in a wide dresser! Deep drawers mean maximum storage space. Keep them organized with canvas drawer dividers and add additional closet storage with a canvas hanging organizer or two.
