Kitchen Timers & Thermometers

How to Use a Kitchen Thermometer

No modern kitchen is complete without thermometers and timers. Prevent illness, eliminate guesswork and avoid overcooked food with meat thermometers, available in digital and analog displays. These tools measure the internal temperatures of beef, lamb, poultry, veal, fish, ground meat and more. Remove your food from the heat source before inserting the probe into the thickest part of the meat. Avoid the bone for best accuracy, and be sure to clean the probe with hot, soapy water after use. Thermometers with alarms are useful when you need to leave the kitchen or have other tasks to complete. Place the probe in the meat and set the timer. An alarm will go off when the food reaches the desired temperature. Easily monitor cooking, baking, marinating or roasting time with kitchen timers. Look for features like magnetic backings and stainless steel housings to increase function and ease of use.
