Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart and Good Looking This kitchen island proved to be a perfect fit for my small kitchen. It made an unworkable space into an effective, smart and good-looking space for cooking and being with people while cooking. Stools fit under the ledge. The wooden top looks great and cleans up well. The storage space is excellent. For a $500 island, this is a terrific buy (and I have never written a review until now). It actually makes me happy when I'm in the kitchen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It I searched many places for a kitchen cart/island and this is definitely the best one I found. It is a little pricey, but it's worth it because of the quality. It's all wood- not pressboard. It has lots of space inside & I love that you can flip up the side piece to add counter space. I have the wheels on the botton, although I only move it when I'm cleaning the floors. I got a ton of compliments on this piece. It is very pretty & easy to clean. I recommend delivery because it weighs a ton. Really- like 200lbs. There were a lot of pieces. It wasn't very hard to put together but it was very time consuming. It took my husband & I about 2 hours to build. It is worth it. I absolutely love the quality & design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great quality! I ordered this in the store, but per the salesperson's recommendation, opted to have it delivered.  I'm glad I did, the box was huge & very heavy.  I put it together myself in a couple of hours while watching tv, except for the top, which I needed help to lift.  I couldn't attach all of the bolts for the top, due to the awkward angle inside, but the top is so heavy and with the couple of bolts I could attach, it's not going anywhere.  One tip-make sure you put the front sliding door in first and then put the 2nd one behind it.  The small screws to attach the wheels were a little difficult to screw in, but I'm not that handy or strong so it might have just been me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Island Love! I waited several months to review the Belmont Kitchen Island to see if our "honeymoon" with it lasted.I am happy to say it has!We bought the island for extra storage and counter space, particularly to use at holidays and for entertaining. It has become indispensible for casual buffets and as an extended prep area. Even loaded with a mixer and serving pieces, the island is easy to move around the kitchen. My husband to put together in 90 minutes. Though he wants to replace the slides, so the drawers open more fully. The black island looks great with our black appliances and honey maple Arts & Crafts kitchen. It's been durable, and useful! The love story continues...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellant quality Goes together very nice. Takes a little time ,but goes smooth. Pieces fit together great Quality above average I did it watching a football game on tv. Took my time and it was done in 90 min after opening box. Directions were also very good. A great addition to my cabin

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for small kitchens Got this as a graduation gift when I moved out of state to a very small studio apartment. It was a lifesaver!! I had space to store my larger items (like my mixer) and bulky baking items. Because we left the locking wheels on it, my boyfriend and I were able to pull it out and use it as a dining room table. We now live in a house and it looks beautiful in our kitchen and now holds all my serving pieces. Assembly was fairly easy; my boyfriend did need help putting the top part on. The top is still in excellent condition, but I've been very aware of what I set on it and take care of it according to the directions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very functional, not terribly durable I looked all over for kitchen island to add much-needed storage space to my small kitchen. This piece was the best I found for that purpose- similar pieces from other stores tended to have small, flimsy drawers and had open shelves or wine racks instead of a cabinet. The Belmont Kitchen Island can store a lot of stuff- the cabinet space is very roomy with plenty of space for small appliances and pots, and the drawers offer as much space as a kitchen cabinet drawer. However, the finish is not what I'd expect from a C&B piece, the black wood feels cheap and scratches easily, and after a year, some parts of the joints are starting to separate. The finish on the top has started to wear away in some spots, even though we never use knives directly on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best part of my kitchen I love this cabinet/ breakfast bar. My kitchen is small, yet i was searching for 2 yrs trying to find a kitchen island to increase my counter space. I found overpriced particle board, or ridiculously expensive items that were too large. I love this portable. It locks in place or wheels to the wall, when i need more floor space. It organizes all my ""go to" tools for food prep or pasta making. It had to be put together, which was a frightening task, but my husband and I prevailed and I'm proud to announce we are still married. Just don't expect it to happen in 1 hour. plan on 2. But it was worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely island though grease and assembly are probs My husband and I purchased this island we love it. It lovely. The only problems are that it required a couple of hours of assembling to get it all put together, and the fact that the wood top- which is beautiful- doesn't have much of a protective coating it seems, and so grease tends to leave marks. We use murphy's oil soap to clean it but there is still a grease mark. we are hoping that old english light wood polish will help to create more of a protective coating. The island itself is very nice quality and lovely looking. we would definitely recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our own paradise island Our Belmont kitchen Island is a dream come true. It has more than exceeded our expectations in many ways. It was boxed and packaged so well which helped make the 2 hour assembly a non-event. This Island, a multi-tasking piece, serves as a food prep and kitchen storage space, serving buffet, bar cabinet and even a room divider for our kitchen/dining area. The smooth, rolling casters make all these uses possible. We purchased 2 bar stools to use with the drop down leaf, giving us an optional eating space. The island's rubberwood top and beautiful design make this piece our "in house" floating dream island.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, stylish and a sinch I went and checked it out in the store to make sure it wasnt too big and it's the perfect size. I ordered it and picked it up at a warehouse nearby. My brother helped me put it together. There are quite a few pieces and it seems sort of overwhelming at first but the instructions were easy to follow and once we got going, it went pretty quick. The finished product was very sturdy and all the drawers glided very nicely. It doesn't seem like a product you build yourself, very quality item! Couldn't be happier and the price is great as compared to any of the boos brand. Love the leaf also, so great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Difficult Assembly The good things first: the island is just what I wanted, size and color perfect, very sturdy, great to move around my small kitchen as prep space or eat a snack. The bad: I have put together many pieces of furniture in my home, including others from Crate&Barrel, some much bigger than this item, but this was the worst assembly experience I've ever had. Even after disassembling completely and reassembling a second time, I could not get this product to "square up" so that all right angles were met. The doors are still not right and occasionally fall out onto the floor. This unit cost way too much money to have to struggle so hard. Though I've kept it, I can't really recommend it unfortunately

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed. I bought this piece to put in the middle of the kitchen for storage and also to double as a breakfast table. The wood top is great, very durable, and easy to keep clean. It is large enought to roll out dough, and to chop & prep as needed. The two top drawers have nice-looking handles, and are perfect for storing my kitchen utensils and gadgets. The bottom storage area is perfect for storing my pots and pans. I love how the sides have towel bars for hanging my dish towels, and the drop down leaf is very clever. I haven't had any problems with the black finish, although it is cracking a little on the side in a very small spot. All in all, this is a well-designed and useful addition to my kitchen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great addition, but... This is a great addition to my home, but the only drawback was that you had to assemble it yourself. With the amount of money I paid for it, I would have liked it to be assembled already. Or, they should have an option to pay alittle more to have it assembled for me. I mean it was pretty easy to assemble, but you do need 2 people to lift the counter top. FYI..I tried doing it myself and dropped on my toe...ouch. So, just be careful...the whole unit is 175lbs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Piece but Tough to Assemble Once this piece of furniture was built, we were very happy with it, but it loses a star due to how hard it was to put together...first off, some of the illustrations were not correct, and we had to go back over them to guess what we had to do. Second, one of the towel rods was too long, and we had to saw about a 1/4 inch off to make it fit. Securing the top to the rest of the piece was very difficult, as the bolts were very hard to reach. However, the finished product looks amazing, and I'm sure it will give us years of good use! I would definitely recommend this to people but be aware that it is hard to build.
