Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great multi-use piece of furniture I bought this a few months ago and have been pleasd with it every since. I recommended it to my friend who is looking for a mobile island. Love the wheels on this thing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We love our kitchen island We needed to improve the functionality of our small kitchen and this island has been a great addition. It was a bit of a chore to assemble but a good project for my wife and I to tackle together. The instructions and hardware were good. There are only minor issues living with the island day-to-day. The sliding doors don't always ride their tracks as well as we'd like. The outside door in particular can easily slip out of its track, but is easy to return to its proper place. We installed the caster wheels rather than the stationary feet, which work well and allow the island to be easily moved around the floor. Two of the wheels have cam locks, however, they do not lock the island perfectly still. This hasn't been a functional problem. The island's wood top is great and we use the hinged section all the time when we eat breakfast at the island (using some great metal stools also from Crate & Barrel). The island has helped us with concealed storage, a great work top, and it looks great in the kitchen. We'd buy it again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Kitchen Island I bought this to add counter space to my very small kitchen. I was so glad I did. My place is a studio and it gives me extra storage and helps divide the kitchen from the rest of the house. I like the fact that he came with wheels if I want it movable or not. Quality piece, very we'll made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, Sturdy, Sleek Storage! After waiting 2 months for the island to come back into stock I finally received it and I couldn't be happier! Despite the three trash bags full of styrofoam and wrapping materials, the shelf was damaged, but I emailed C&B and I should have a new piece of wood for the shelf pretty soon. I was nervous about the assembly after reading the reviews, but it was very straight forward and easy to put together. It definitely helps to have an extra hand though. I decided to not use the casters and put it together with the legs. If you intend to move it around casters are the way to go, this sucker is HEAVY! It's bigger than I remember it being in the store, but the extra storage and counter space is a great addition to my kitchen!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile island We bought this four years ago and it gets better with age. We love the storage space underneath for pots and pans. The drawers are good size for "junk drawer" storage. Our unit didn't come with wheels. I like the option but I don't like the look of the wheels. Ours has white legs. The table top serves as our cutting board and food prep area. The fold down/up option would work great in a small space but we always have it up. We bought the two matching chairs. Great value for a versatile kitchen island.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Took forever to put together.... but love the quality and look of it! I only wish the top had been one slab instead of a fold down....but life goes on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect cart for my needs We bought the Belmont Kitchen Cart in about August, 2014 after perusing through hundreds of carts. It was delivered in Oct. We assembled it ourselves in about an afternoon. The directions were clear and easy to follow. I would recommend buying an Allen Wrench Ratchet set.In my opinion, its best features are the sliding doors and the drop-down leaf since our space is narrow in our galley kitchen. After a couple months, we encountered a crack on the side of the butcher block top that originated in a knot of the grain. Crate and Barrel was very helpful in replacing the top. They stand behind their products and its a pleasure working with everyone I spoke to concerning our problem.I love this cart and recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great storage and style Versatile and beautiful kitchen island. Doesn't take up too much space but still has a good amount of hidden storage. I like that it came with both wheels and tapered feet. Assembly was a little tough but totally doable (I did it by myself). Be forewarned that you will have a ton of styrofoam and other packaging to get rid of after though!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love My New Kitchen Island I love my new kitchen island, but it was a bit complicated to assemble because some of the parts were not properly labeled.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Was the answer we were looking for our kitchen isn't big enough for a full table/chairs, so we use the adjacent dining room, but needed just a spot to sit and read the mail or have a cup of coffee while adding valuable workspace - this island was just the ticket!I would LOVE to give it a full 5 stars because we really adore this item, but when we picked it up and brought it home to put together, there was a piece of hardware missing that a bolt connects into to attach the top. My husband went to hardware store after hardware store to find a match and evenutally ended up having to buy 4 new bolts/connectors for about $26. that took alot of time and hassle. Other than that snag, it went together easily and is very sturdy. we love the addition!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Storage and Workspace We purchased it in October and it arrived in December. Our u shaped kitchen needed additional counter space and storage. This island is great for prepping foods for the stove and oven. We store seldom used items like pitchers and our scale. Extra coffee and hot beverage mixes also are in there. Some other reviewers had difficulty assembling the piece. We had no problems with assembly even though we were suffering from the flu. Hubby used a muffin tin to sort the hardware and keep track of it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very disappointed Received our island about a month ago and was first surprised to see the truly excessive use of styrafoam packaging. Went together fine, but the finsh on the various panels was somewhat uneven. It has been over a month since we put it together and we have been unable to alleviate the foul smell that the island is out-gassing?This island is being used in our guest house, so fortunately we don't have to smell it consistantly. We've cleaned it, wiped it down with Febreeze, etc, but the odor still persists. We are now wheeling it onto the patio during the day in hopes of elinminating the smell, but at this point would not leave it in the kitchen when guests stay. Guess, we'll see.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice and clean look but difficult to assemble When I ordered the island, I did not see any assembly notation on the web. If I had seen it, I would not have ordered it. When the delivery man brought it to my front door, I was shocked that it was not an pre-assembled piece. I asked if he was assembled it and he gave me a look as if I was crazy. Anyway, I assembled it myself last night with some help from my husband to turn over the island after the casters were attached and to put the table top on the island. It took 5 hours to assembled it because the cam screws were difficult to screw into the painted holes. I was extremely frustrated and almost gave up when it took over an hour to have only 5 out of 8 cam screws screwed in. My fingers hurt like crazy (still hurts). My husband came over with a power drill with a screw driver attachment and saved the day. I went on with the assembly. The drawings in the instruction book could be better. It is not exact and I made a couple of mistakes along the way because the drawings were unclear. Like the other person said, the bolts to attach the table top was difficult. You have to be a small person like me to be able to stick your arm and hand all the way to the back and then try to screw it in with the allen wrench, which only screws half way. That part took a long time to complete. I was only able to screw in the four bolts to the sides of the table. The two front ones were not screwed in because the holes were not aligned with the holes in the table top. I figured four out of six would be secured enough. The end result - pretty satisfied with the neat and clean lines of the island. I can't wait to try it out. The delivery charge of $100 is way too much for a product that you would need to assemble yourself. $50 would have been more reasonable. Would I recommend this island? Yes but with caution due to difficult assembly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful item While I truly love this kitchen island, it was not easy to put together. It took my husband and myself close to 5 hours to assemble. And the piece that divided the area where the drawers go did not line up properly with the holes and fowls along the back. We had to improvise. But the end result was excellent and the kitchen island looks terrific and provides some needed storage space.
