Love this lamp
I just picked this up and put it together today. I love the look of the lamp and the change of light in the room. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is there doesn't seem to be much variance with the dimmer. It might be the light bulb that came with the lamp. I'm curious how the dimming abilities will be on a regular light bulb.

Very Handsome floor lamp
This floor lamp is all that one would hope. It looks great, is heavy and well balanced and casts light both down & up. Actually it casts more light up than down; I would have liked it better the other way around. It's a little on the pricey side but for the price you're getting a very sturdy lamp. The grey shade is nice and when lit is warm in tone. We really like it so I hope you will to.

Artful lamp, but not enough light for us
As others have noted this is a beautiful piece of decor. The drawback for us is that the diffuser is the same dark color as the shade and so very little light makes it down to your book or newspaper. The diffuser is part of the shade and cannot be removed so if we cannot find another shade back it goes (sadly).

Awesome Lamp
I ordered the Dexter Floor Lamp during the holidays and it was on back order. I had to wait 2 months for this lamp to arrive at the Crate and Barrel store. This seemed to be a very long and inappropriate amount of time to wait for a floor lamp! Well... I just picked up the lamp and have been using it for several days and I love it! This lamp was worth the long wait! Please be aware that the lamp shade is a muddy (putty) grayish brown when not lit up. When the lamp is lit, the shade turns into a beautiful golden brown. The dimmer switch is a huge plus to set the mood in a room. Diffuser shines light onto the ceiling, which is a nice surprise. This is a great floor lamp!

Perfect lamp
this lamp was worth the wait. It complete our leather sectional and rug ensemble. The diffuser makes the room feel warm and inviting with just the right amount of light. Great quality materials and easy assembly

Unique
We bought this lamp for our lounge to go with our Axis chairs and LOVE it! We were nervous about how it would look but the lamp looks better than it did in the store. The dimmer switch makes the lamp even more amazing! A must buy!

Unique Gem
Just redid our comtemporary living room. This lamp gave the final touch. Elegant and unusual. Very easy to assemble. Highly recommend it.

Worth the wait
Although the Dexter floor lamp was on back order when I purchased it, it was well worth the wait. It looks perfect in our new home and completes our living room. It is just enough light to sit and knit in the evenings. The grey shade gives off a subtle light that is not too bright for our room. So very happy!

Must Have Piece in Any Home
The Dexter floor lamp i what made my apartment come together. The design and silhouette are slick and sophisticated without forcing the rest of my apartment to have to adopt an exclusively minimalist and modern style. I also love that I see this lamp in films and tv shows, so it kind of validates that this is a popular purchase without feeling like i see it everywhere in other people's homes. So far I'm the only one of my friends who has it but, it's fun to see it make a cameo in a film! Also, I LOVE dimmers. So into dimmers and this one has a great dimmer. My only criticism is the base is so heavy so it's hard to lift it to clean around it. Also not an effortless task to change the lightbulb.
