Short Lifespan
Purchased 2 of these planters for my outdoor patio. They are outside for the Summer months & brought in for the winter since I reside in Wisconsin. Both planters began to have problems with the finish bubbling and signs of rust. Took 1 year for the problem to go from subtle to VERY noticeable. I really like the design and look of the planters & more importantly my Ficus Trees are happy too. I sent an email to Crate & Barrel to let them know about the issue. Looks like they will make it thru this summer & a replacement will be in order;-( For the price I would have expected to get 3-5 years out of these planters.

Large & Small Bronze Tapered Planters
Absolutely love this pair of contemporary planters. They will be used outdoors. It is amazing how light in weight they are, as other reviewers have already mentioned in their reviews. If the light weight presents a problem outdoors, even with plants in the planters, an extra added weight (such as a brick, stones, etc.) can easily be used.
I like the feature of having drain holes in the bottom of the planter with rubber plugs, especially if you decide to plant directly into the planter.
If your tastes lean towards modern or contemporary style, these planters will not disappoint you at all. I highly recommend this product.

our new patio and thinking about ordering the taller

Beautiful Style
I just received the two smaller planters and am waiting for one of the taller ones. I was surprised at how lightweight they are. The style is beautiful, will look wonderful on my new flagstone patio. Am wondering though, because of the weight, if the taller one will blow over with a plant in the top? I think some sort of weight will have to be placed in it. I have not seen anything like these at my local garden store and appreciate their uniqueness.

Elegant
Just bought 2 of these for the front walk way to our brick house. The black matches the railing, and so far, plants look good. Was wondering, though, if with time, these planters will stain the concrete below?
