Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS TABLE Purchased this table with no known issues. About a month later, the sheet metal started to form bubbles underneath creating a very uneven surface. You place a wine glass on the bubble by accident and youre sitting in a puddle of wine 5 seconds later. This table should not be sold by a company of this caliber with this known issue. Every review on here has the same bubble problem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great style that doesn't hold up Love the look and style of this table, but have had it less than a year and its rapidly decaying. I've experienced the same issue as the other review with the surface peeling. The attractive color of the table top seems to be just a thin layer of paint, and as the metal underneath is a bright silver the peeled spots really stand out and are ugly.On top of that the metal itself has begun to bubble and separate from the underlayment making the surface uneven and creating spots that are awkward for plates or glasses.Wish I could recommend this, but would have to stay steer clear.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beautiful but impractical I purchased this table for my small kitchen to function as the dining table as well as an island for additional work space. The table itself is beautiful: the height matches perfectly to my countertops; the open construction allows my kitchen to feel larger; and the surface offers a nice industrial feel to my contemporary home. This piece is perfect -- for a museum. I've resorted to using a table cloth, which I HATE, to protect the surface from scratches; however, even with the cloth, the surface has started to pucker from heated plates (see photo). I wince whenever the smallest drop of liquid is spilled since it leaves marks on the surface if not immediately tended to. I really should have listened to previous reviewers instead of having the mentality "it won't happen to me..." I'm now on the hunt to find a piece of glass, cut to the size of the table, so that I can finally get rid of the table cloth.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Buy This Table! It's beautiful... until you use it. Set your coffee cup on it. It dents. Let it sit for weeks without use, and the surface warps & bubbles. Barely slide a plate across it and it leaves a nasty set of scratches that won't go away. Fortunately, I received a replacement after having the table for only a few months. The VERY DAY of having my new table I sat at it to have a cup of coffee. I set my cup down and picked it up, and amazingly, with very little contact, it left scratches. Having used it now for one week with my laptop and coffee on top, the entire surface looks like I've been using it for years. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT unless you just want to look at it from afar.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unuseable table I am so disappointed with this table! We are completely afraid to use it. We've sat at it about 5 times over the past year. The metal finish looks terrible! The slightest movement of a plate or even a watch touching the table will scratch the finish and expose a bright ugly under metal. It's just my husband and i and we are so careful but it's the most delicate top finish and if you actually want to use your table to eat at instead of just look at, it's going to look ragged quickly. Do not buy this! You will be very disappointed! I really wish I could return mine and get a quality table.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love it, but finish started peeling immediately! I LOVE the look of this table. We have 2 of them in our dining room - we put them together to make one long bistro-style table. But a day after we got them, we wiped the surfaces with a soft damp cloth (as directed in the care instructions) and the finish started to peel off at one the seams! Now, two weeks later, there are a few spots where it's peeling, and underneath is a bright silver metal that's VERY noticeable :( That's the only reason I wouldn't recommend it. I'm going to call and see what they say. If it turns out mine are just defective, I'll repost.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst table I have ever owned I purchased the District dining table a year ago. Six months later, the finish had nearly rotted off the top of the table - it was sticky, beat up, and metal was bubbled. I hardly ever used the table in those 6 months. Like average once a week. C&B replaced the table with a new one. Another six months later, the surface of the new one isn't sticky, but the metal is bubbling up again. I DON'T USE THIS TABLE so trust me when I tell you that it will do this on its own just sitting there with no use. It's absolutely horrible. I wouldn't wish this table on anybody. For the money, I'm appalled.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great table, fragile finish I purchased this table a little less than a year ago. I'm in love with the style of the piece, and couldn't be happier with the way it mixes with our other furniture. it's construction is sturdy, and the wood base is beautiful. The only negative I have to share is what some of the other users have mentioned about the finish. I have noticed several places where it has chipped or scratched off. The metal underneath is very ugly. We have always been exceptionally careful when cleaning and using the piece. I have to hold my breath when guests come over to make sure they don't slam their chairs into the edges creating more wear. That's no way for a hostess to enjoy her company! Even still, I love this table.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beautiful at first.... We bought this table in October, and always get compliments on it when we have guests over. We live in a small New York apartment and thought that this would eventually translate well to a bar oriented room, so we anticipated keeping it for awhile. Unfortunately, several bubbles underneath the sheet metal have formed making the surface uneven and difficult to eat off of. Additionally, the black coating on the metal has started to wear off and shows the silver color of the metal underneath. We had only had the table for a few weeks before this started happening. Although it is beautiful, I would not recommend purchasing this table.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Galvanized Top is "bubbling" My husband and I purchased this table in August 2011. We use it very infrequently as we often eat at the kitchen island. The galvanized top is "bubbling" in areas as though the adhesive loosened. This creates an uneven surface where glasses may tip over. I am wondering if we have a defective table or if other customers are experiencing similar issues? The nails are also losing their color as though they were painted to match the iron sheet. Overall, I am disappointed in the quality of this table.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun table! Hey, I bought this table as a dinner/kitchen island table for my condo. If you need something for 4 people, everyday, it's too small. But for 1-2 people and the occasional 4 people as guests, it's great! It's sturdy too. You might not want to dance on top of it, but it will hold your weight. My favorite thing about it, is its industrial look! They took some wood and wrapped it, tightly, inside "rugged"-y sheet metal. I know that's not a very good description. It's just rugged/industrial enough where it doesn't feel like a finished table, but it's finished enough when after you clean it, you're not worried about parasites living in the weird aesthetic cracks (which it doesn't have). My only qualm (and I might being a little OCD about this) but I wish they had nailed the the two central strips of sheet metal after all the other strips. That way the middle of the table would be the most elevated part, and you could swipe off crumbs a little more easily. That last part was a message to the designers in case they're reading this review.Overall, I recommend it. It's a great center piece if you're going for a more rugged look. Oh, and you'll need the shorter bars tools (counters tools, I think) for this. Look for 24-27inches.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loving This Table I live in a small apartment with a very small kitchen so we decided to purchase this table because it was counter height and could serve as additional prep space as well as dining space. I love this table it's perfect for our space. The delivery staff put it together and helped move it to where I wanted it. So far we haven't had any bubbling, which I read on other reviews has been occurring. We both are very happy with it.My only complaint was getting an email two weeks after I purchased it announcing that it was on sale for $70 less than I paid for it. I can't believe no one would have known that it would be marked down and maybe advised on waiting on it. This is why I took a star away from my rating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great table for small space I love this table. It's fits perfect in my small dining area and looks really contemporary. However, for the price, I expected it to come fully assembled. Attaching the legs were fairly simple, however the table is extremely heavy and it was difficult to flip right side up.Otherwise, a great purchase! It looks great with brown leather bar stools.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont buy the District Table At first glance it looks great! But after owning it for a year the metal surface began to bubble up. Crate and Barrel is taking it back and giving me credit towards a different table.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice table Awesome table. I use it as an office desk but it's a great table. Plenty sturdy enough to be a great dining room table
