Lovely for storing sterling silverware
I had been storing my mother's sterling silverware in a drawer in my dining room hutch, wrapped in flannel. Saw this online at Crate & Barrel, bought it, received it (packaged extremely well), and love it! It's perfect. Now I know my treasured silver is protected well, in a beautiful storage piece.

Exactly What I Wanted (Almost!)
I have been looking for a flatware box since I got married in 2010. This is the best one I found: exactly the color, style, and storage I was looking for. The only negative thing I can say is the price was a little steep. Hopefully it will be worth it after some time and natural wear/tear!

Color is much more red than in photo
I was thrilled to have finally found a flatware storage chest that matched the dark wood of our dining furniture. However, when I saw this chest in person, I was very disappointed. It is a reddish wood - almost a cherry(?) finish. Not the dark espresso it claims to be. Too bad! Crate and Barrel - please make a darker finish flatware box!

Perfect silver chest
We received this storage box for our silver for a wedding gift and its just perfect. I love the color and it fits all 12 sets as well as the serving utensils in the bottom drawer.

Functional and Beautiful!
I am so happy with this silverware storage box. It holds a large amount of silverware and looks great too! We hold this will one day be a hierloom piece for our children. The drawer at the bottom is a great feature, it holds all of my serving pieces!

Beautiful Piece

Great Storage
Holds our 12 piece Outure set plus matching serving set and extra butter knives. Looks great and I don't have to worry about the flatware when it's boxed up.

Pretty nice.
I would say that if you are looking for a nice looking box to store your silverware that you don't use too often, then this is great. The slots for knives are a bit snug and the drawer is small. I would have given it a better rating if it had another larger drawer as well.

Great Box!!!
I received my Grandmothers silver ware from her wedding. This box shows off the silverware so nicely!! It is heavy, but I think that shows off the craftsmanship. I wasn’t sure if it would be able to hold the whole set along with serving set, but it did. I love it!!

Beautiful and functional storage
I purchased this storage box for flatware that I received as a wedding gift. This storage box is very heavy and will serve its protective duties well, but also looks gorgeous sitting on the shelf. The color is rich and design is a nice blend of classic taste and modern style.

Beautiful and Functional
This is a beautiful silverware box. It is much more contemporary looking than others that I have seen, which I love. It has a nice heavy feel to it and appears to be good quality. We received this as a wedding gift and it holds all 12 place seeting of our china silverware (Vera Wang Grosgrain) perfectly.

A third drawer would have been great
The box is great, but, I have steak knives that go with my silver, as well as serving pieces. The bottom drawer is a bit too cramped. Could have used another drawer.

Not for silver, but great for stainless
I learned from my mom that if you have real silver (or silver plated), you need a special box with special lining that keeps the silver from tarnishing. We use this box for our nicer-than-everyday stainless flatware and it's great. I agree that it was a little snug to get the knives in there, but if you're not using them everyday then it's no big deal. Beautiful dark wood.

Slight Damage
When I unpacked the box, the lid came with sort of an adhesive strip as if it had been taped. I was so excited to see my silverware in the box that I hadn't noticed the damage until the following day when I closed the lid. By then the packaging was tossed. For this reason only I wouldn't recommend. I otherwise love the inside, everything fits nicely and it was exactly what I was looking for.

Functional and Beautiful
I received this as a gift and I am very happy with it. It holds my silverware secure and the lining in the drawer keeps things from sliding around. It even matches my decor so I don't have to hide it in a cupboard.

Beautiful finish, but...
like the other reviewer, the knife storage space is a little tight. I had to really manuever the knives (no damage, but it was awkward) to get them in. However, if you only plan on using this for silverware that you don't use often, it's not a big deal. Bottom storage drawer has ample space for several hostess/server sets. I would still recommend!

great flatware storage
This box holds all my nice flatware (12 sets) and the matching serving pieces. The soft interior keeps everything from getting scratched. I have to flex the knife blades to get them in and out, but there's no damage to the slots or the knives. The outside finish is beautiful and the box is a great place to keep my flatware that's not used for weeks at a time.
