NIce dinnerware but discontinued
I picked this dinnerware, ordered it online and went to pick it up a few days later. There were a few pieces not available so I chose to go to another location to get them. It was at this second location that I was told it was discontinued. The first place should have told me. Having said that, the shapes of the pieces are nice and the mug is great to hold onto. One of the plates has stained with mustard - I am hoping it will come out after a few washings.

simple and elegant
My husband likes things simple and I like things with more "oomph". This dinnerware set we both loved. Simple doesn't have to mean boring. They look better in person. Great scale and feel.

Excellent everyday dinnerware
I love this dinnerware! I have had it for about 2 years now, and not one piece has broken or chipped. Even though it's just white, there's a richness to the finish that makes it much more interesting, and the color matches exactly my much more expensive china. I love the 'halo' detail too. Extremely glad I chose this as my dinnerware.

Completely satisfied!
We love this dinnerware. The plates are a perfect size for sufficient portions. I appreciate how these plates are flat. Previous dishes I have owned are "scooped" and food seems to slide toward the middle. This is not the case with these dishes. They also stack perfectly in the dishwasher. The bowls are perfect for my husbands cereal. Deep enough to load it up with fruit and not overflow. As for the durability, I have had one break however It has completely my fault. My hands were wet and it slipped out of my hand and fell into another. My teenage daughter said our food looks so much better on this dinnerware. Glad we made the purchase.

Love them
I love our Halo dinnerware set! They are classic, durable, and both dishwasher and microwave safe! We've had the set for two years and they still look amazing - no scratching or wear and tear. I would highly recommend this set for your registry.

PATTERN CHANGE
I adore my Halo dishes! However, between fall 2010 and fall 2011, the original pattern was discontinued, and the current pattern DOES NOT MATCH the original.
The plates are shallower, flatter and a little thicker. The decorative "halo" is wider and less pronounced (more like a bump than a ridge). In my opinion, even the color is a little different.
If you are buying a new set, these are lovely dishes. If you're wanting replacement pieces for an older set, you're out of luck!!
I had these dishes on my wedding registry and got stuck with no way to complete my place settings. For this reason, I wouldn't buy anything from Crate & Barrel unless you can buy the entire set at once. Not only do their trendy patterns come and go every season, but even their "standby" patterns can't be counted on.

Still love this after 6 years
I bought 8 of the 4-piece Halo sets over 6 years ago and still think these pieces are beautiful and timeless with their clean lines that I am personally drawn to. I use them every day and have never had an issue with using them in the microwave (unlike another product review mentioned). They are simple enough to use and enjoy every day but classy enough that you can dress them up for the formal dining room with more formal stemware, chargers, etc... I have definitely been happy with these pieces and hope you will enjoy them too!

halo dinnerware microwave safe?
I love my halo dinnerware which I have had about one year. I thought it was microwave safe, but a dinner plate split into two pieces when microwaving recently. The plate "popped" after only about a minute and a half of cooking.

Love this dinnerware. It's simple and modern, yet beautiful. I also like that it's durable, or at least looks like.

Beautiful but fragile
We registered for this set and have been enjoying the simple elegance and classic look in our new home. The set looks beautiful against the Basque Honey Dining table too. One of our mugs cracked while pouring coffee into it and the Halo Platter broke into pieces when my husband picked it up from the counter after hand washing it (too big for dishwasher). The customer service was excellent and our items were replaced immediately without any hassle.

simple and durable
I registered for these plates for everyday use and am very happy with them. They are simple and very durable but of course (not surprisingly) will break if dropped. However, I love the fact I can purchase pieces separately if I happen to drop another one! Please don't stop making this product EVER!

Super Satisfied
My husband and I registered for this dinnerware when we got married almost six years ago. I was actually just checking in to buy a few more bowls, not because this set isn't fabulous or durable, but because we're a little clumsy and have broken a few of them. For every broken bowl, though, we've dropped two more on the floor without a single scratch or chip. This stuff has been through four moves and five plus years of wear and tear, and it still looks beautiful. I highly recommend it. And, I love, love, love that I can replace the pieces that we've broken.

Classic Pieces
Love this dinnerware set! Very classic and looks great with everything. Not plain looking at all! Seem very sturdy and put in the dishwasher without a problem.

Beautiful!
My husband and I opted for these as our china (we got the 5 pc. set) when we registered for our wedding. We literally looked at dishes for an hour trying to decide which ones we wanted because they were all so beautiful. I knew I had wanted white. Ultimately, we knew these were the right dishes when the C&B employee let us know that you can literally stand on top of the tea cup. That was all we needed to hear! This bone china is extremely durable...and beautiful! We love this and are hoping that we can pass it on from generation to generation for years to come. Thanks Crate and Barrel!

Love my Halo Collection
My husband and I registered at Crate and Barrel for just about everything we needed/wanted as wedding gifts and I have not been disappointed with any products. However, my favorite gift had to have been my Halo Dinnerware!
I never worry about damaging it in the microwave or dishwasher. It can be casual or easily dressed up for a dinner party! Clean, simple, matches everything and anything, this product never goes out of style!

Love the look - but a couple pieces have chipped
I love the way these look. They are perfect for everyday use without looking out of place but also look very nice for a dinner party or a more upscale event.
My only complaint is after about a year of use a couple of our pieces have chipped. We don't have a dishwasher and therefore may be more rough on them than a dishwasher would be. Also once after pouring hot water from a tea kettle into a mug the bottom just fell right through. I'm scared to put super hot water or microwave them for long now.
On the plus side Crate and Barrel replaced the mug and they always have great customer service.

Durable
A little surprised that people said these chipped (I am only shopping this item to order more bowls). My husband and 3 year old son are quite rough with the dishes (I own the Pearl China and the bowls from this collection) and I am actually shocked that we have everything in immaculate condition after 6 years. Only 1 plate has broken from us dropping it on concrete, but everything else has survived banging around, haphazardly putting them in the dishwasher (and them banging against each other while the dishwasher is running), moving homes 4x, etc. Impressive. In addition, these dishes don't get scratch or stained- I get lazy and use the plates as a cutting board vs. cutting roasts on on a board. These are surviving my 3 year old.

Only 1 problem - they chip
I really love these dishes. We bought the whole collection about 5 years ago. The mugs are the perfect size, and the dishes clean very easily. I am currenlty shopping on the website because I need to buy replacements. I have 5 dinner plates and 1 salad plate that have chips. Some chipped the first year we had them. Although I love these dishes, it can get costly if I have to keep replacing some every year. At least C&B sells the pieces individually...
