Everyday use of this product
I bought this flatware when I got married 6 years ago and it has held up very well. It does scratch easily on the handles, but they has a nice weight and can switched from everyday to formal easily.

No good
I just ordered this flatware and found it easy to scratch, not safe for the dishwasher either. Can't find the receipt and would not recommend this for everyday use.

great set
I like this set because it's simple yet elegant. I didn't register for silverware (too much of a hassle!) and I think this set works well for everyday, and can also be used with my China. The matte finish part does get little scratches in it after a while. Nice set!!

Terrible!
I got this for my shower gift 2 months ago. I washed it with a soft sponge and the matte section has shiny scratches all over it. It is quite embarrassing to set my table with scratched flatware for my guests. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product. I returned mine for a full refund without the boxes!

LOVE THIS SET
I bought 2 boxes of this set... love them. They have a great weight to the silverware. I do not like it when silverware is flimsy or the tongs are so thin that they bend. These pieces are well made, they remain in good condition, I do not have any tarnish or bad wear marks on them... and I only wash them in the dishwasher. I know that others have had poor comments about them, but luckily i have not experienced any of those concerns.

Finally!
After using inferior flatware for years, I am pleased at how well this wears washing after washing, never looking dull and scratched always looking good on my table. It feels good in the hand and makes me so happy to have on hand when entertaining!

Not Recomended
I received this set less than a year ago from my registry and I am extremely disapointed with the quality. The set is tarnished and has scratches and mars on almost every piece. It makes for quite an embarassing table setting when we have guests over.

Completely scratched
Perhaps they changed manufacturer since the other reviewers purchased. We were given this set off our registry 3 years ago. After 6 months of hand washing with soft sponges, the matte areas were completely covered in shiny scratches. What a disappointment.

Love the Austen Flatware Set
Received this product as a wedding gift. Our most used and one of our favorite wedding gifts.
Our main concern with selecting any flatware was scratching. We have had the product for over a year and the countless times we have washed our flatware in the dishwasher or using a abrasive sponge, no scratches have appeared. A GREAT every day use flatware set.
Will be purchasing more.
