So cute - and practical
I wanted something to hold butter that had some character and class. I found these dishes and they couldn't be better. Solid feeling, not flimsy at all. They hold about 3/4 of a stick of butter, enough to last several days. With the dome cover, odors aren't a problem. I appreciate hearing how others have used these guys -- might have to order more to use them in new ways.

Love these little guys!
I purchased a couple of these to use for holiday and large family dinners to set around the table. They are attractive, and cut down on items being passed around the table. I have even put different kinds of butter in each before (one regular, one honey cinnamon).

great product
I have been looking for a butterdish that would keep the butter covered and not look messy. Most butter dishes get smeared with butter as they are used. This little dish is perfect. The butter is in a bowl which the lid covers - no mess!! They are small (about the diameter of a coffee cup) but hold about 3/4 stick of butter. I use mine every day; I bought three of them so I could place them along the dining room table or use on multiple tables during a holiday meal. I plan to buy more as they are small enough to put one at each place setting.

individual domed butter dishes
I ordered butter dishes because they would allow my guests their own serving of butter for an elegant meal. I also found them useful to give as gifts with a small treat inside. (a medium size chocolate kiss, a small cupcake..) I use them for individual desserts because the size is perfect for those watching their weight. I continue to find uses for a product that started out to be for butter!

alternate use
I did purchase this as a butter dish but it was too small. I did find a perfect use as a container for my kosher salt. It looks so pretty on my counter and because of its size does not take up alot of space

Cute Butter Dish, poor quality
I really was disappointed when the 3 butter dishes arrived. Especially after I had read all the good reviews. This shipment could have just been a bad batch, however, company that made them need to review the quality assurance of this product before shipping to stores to be sold. This is not Crate & Barrel's fault as I am sure they were direct ship from the manufacturer. Just be aware of your shipment. I did return this item. Hope this does not discourage futher purchases of this item. Just better inspections.

cute butter dish!
I used these for mayo and miracle whip when I hosted a bridal shower. Everyone thought they were so cute. I gave it 4 stars since I had to exchange two of them since the lids did not match up with the bottoms. Like other people said, they hold a enough butter for a few people.

Love these!
These are perfect for placing soft butter or blended butters on a table. They are lovely and will fit in any decor. They are sturdy and feel substantial without being cumbersome. Also, I was so impressed at how well they were packed for shipment as well.

I bought two of these for Thanksgiving dinner this year and love them! They definitely hold enough butter for more than one person so I simply put one at each end of the table for easy access. They are adorable and look much better than having a margarine container on the table :P They really add a touch of class to butter!

Butter Dish
I bought several of these to have for our large family dinners during the holidays. They are fantastic.
The quality is great, the size is perfect for 3-4 people. I can't wait until Thanksgiving to use them !

I wouldn't say they are individual..
One person should never eat that much butter... and believe me, I love butter! I put a few out on the table, but not one per person. I think they are a lot cutter and less obtrusive than a traditional butter dish. They have also inspired me to try making different butters. For Thanksgiving last year, I had some extra sage, so I made sage butter and a few other herbed butters (everyone loved them!). For that reason, I love the that they are glass (I've looked at porcelain ones other places).

Love these and so do my guests!
I don't give each individual their own butter dish. They are more than large enough for at least 2 people even with serving corn on the cob and rolls. I purchased 4 and it's nice to just spread them around the table for meals when I have guests over. Thick glass, great look and quality make this a nice conversation starter. People love them and are always asking me where I bought them. Will probably get 4 more in case one breaks. Also for Thanksgiving this year when I host for the first time.

Surprize Purchase
I bought two (2) butter dish and I love them. But they are minis. Crate&Barrel should let us know that they are not regular sizes. Now I can olny use them I don't know yet were, but surly not as a butter dish. Thanks

These dishes will have many uses, from butter, jam, jelly, dipping sause, etc.
One top was broke, and a new one was received three days after i called about it.

individual servings
This little covered dome dish is the perfect thing for my Tea party. I first seen something similar at a Tea House that we visit quite often. They fill them with lemon curd and devonshire cream for scones and cakes. I just loved them and search the web until I found them and at a perfect price.. I ordered 6 and they are just perfect for individual servings.
