Versital Board
Bought the 20x12 board and have to say it makes a great serving board for cheese, fruit, what ever you can think of.

Very nice
We have this sitting on our coffee table with candles sitting on it. It has bee a good product. It's thin but that hasnt been a problem. The color is a deep gray and looks nice.

Perfect for unique entertaining!
Love this slate piece!!!!!!! For the price point it is an incredible value! Slate is now being used more frequently by chefs in table presentation, whether it be for a cheese presentation or as a unique placemat.
It looks wonderful with my Juliska Pewter stoneware!

Useful Slate cooktop cover
I purchased 2 large slate boards to place over my cooktop grills when I am not cooking to give me more counter space. They are the perfect measurement that I was searching for and the look is perfect. I considered cutting boards, custom made tops and happily decided that I found this idea as an option. Easy to move and place elsewhere. Still trying to decide if I can place something that is hot out of the oven on top??

More countertop space
I ordered 2 of these on line to place on top of my Thermador 5star burner cooktop for extra counter space. I returned 1 to the store because it appeared to have a larger than acceptable chip on the outer edge. The edges have a natural unfinished cut. The slate is not thick enough to place extremely hot items on top in fear of it cracking. Although they were not designed for how I am using them or fireproof due to the felt underside, I will make sure that the burners will not be used when they are on top. I considered having custom covers made( too $and where would i store them?) or using wood cutting boards ( too bulky). I am very pleased with this solution!! They look great:-)

Great!
I use mine for cheese trays and for chargers! I have the mid size and the smallest size. I love them! They have the no scratch thing on the bottom and are not too heavy! I also write on mine with chalk, which is fun!

Best Gift Ever
I received both this cheese board and the smaller one as a shower gift. They look beautiful on any table and have protective bottom to keep your table looking great. Actually wrote with chalk to label the cheese on the slate - perfect!

Better than expected
really good quality - heavy/durable, great soft felt backing, good texture, unique. plus you can write on it with chalk to highlight what is on the board. i got a variety of sizes & i love them.

MODERN COOL & STYLISH
This is my favorite purchase from the site and store combined. I am a professional chef and caterer and I get more compliments from this slate board that I use for cheese service than any other piece I have. It is a great surface, not only for the look, but because you can write in chalk on the slate so everyone knows what everything is when presented. It keeps it modern and casual while presenting some high end cheese products!

Beautiful Cheese Plate
I actually purchased the small slate cheese tray to be used as a tray to hold monogrammed paper towels for the powder room but it didn't really go with the granite countertop. It was so attractive that I decided to keep it and use it as a cheese plate, which it was designed for. I just love it and my guests think it is so beautiful. It is beautiful, sturdy and priced very affordably. Great job, Crate & Barrel!

Great value!
I needed something for a cheese tray for a New Years Eve party. I wanted something elegant, but not too expensive as it's not something I'll use often. I saw this on C&B and ordered...it arrive in about 3 days and was perfect! I was very happy I found and ordered this.

Best Purchase ever!
I bought the large size to use as place mats on a wooden table. They look great, super easy to clean, and plenty of room for drinks too. Love them!

Love These Slates
Weighted but not too heavy. The boards also have no-slip scratch protecting bottom. Will probably purchase the smaller boards as well.

AWESOME!
This cheese slate is great for the kitchen and the person who loves to eat and serve cheese. its a very cool take on a traditional cheese platter and makes cheese and wine an even better experience!

Great for cheese!
This slate is a very attractive way to serve up some yummy cheese, it fits a variety of cheese with space for fruits. The only thing I would change is to make the felt on the bottom removable for washing - but there are ways around this and I still recommend it.
