ruins my expensive knives
The magnetic pull on this product is so strong that it has been consistently chipping my expensive shun knives. I love the concept of this device and I have already ruined the wall where I have hung this so I have been trying to adjust to the product by being really really careful how I put the knives back on to it but no matter how careful I am I am finding that the knives just snap back to the magnet too strongly. I have found that there exists products similar to this that are encased in wood to protect the knives. I am thinking about getting this instead.

Keeps Knives Sharp
We received a some great quality knives as wedding gifts. The advice I received about storing the our knives was to get a magnetic strip. This keeps them from shuffling about in a drawer and avoids a cumbersome block.

Space saver
It's the first product of this sort that we've owned, but it's already proven to be both a space saver as well as a nice safety measure. Our knives are now displayed attractively on the wall in our kitchen.

Ruins your knives over the long-term
I considered buying one of these because it is an attractive way to display knives, but after visiting the kitchen of a friend who's had one for a number of years, you could see how the knives were starting to warp from the constant pulling from the magnet. I spoke to a few people in the restaurant industry who also advised against using these because they will, over time, ruin your knives.

this takes up so much less space than a traditional block and displays the knives rather than hiding them.

Simply Brilliant Solution!

Best Way to Store Knives
As a chef my knives are extremly important to me. At home I store my knives on this magnetic strip. It keeps them sharp longer and they are always handy. I love it! Although - it does freak some people out to have knives just hanging on the wall - but it is still the best way to store your knives!
