Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stylish but poor quality: Edges chip easily I love the style of this set but have been disappointed to see at least half of my plates chip around the edges. My previous dinnerware has lasted years without chipping so I'm very disappointed with the quality of this set. One of the bowls also has a hairline crack through it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE! LOVE!! WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE DISHES!!.We have 4 children and these dishes have been just perfect. No chipping, no discoloring, no lines from knives cutting. You couldn't ask for a more perfect plate. They are perfect for everyday, or fancy dinners. We use the appetizer plates for every lunch, and they are the perfect size. I also have the dinner low bowls, which we use ALL the time. Perfect for stews and pastas, and whenever I'm serving rice/couscous to my children! This dish set is modern and organic looking, and I love the clean white look and the lip on the plates! I could go on and on how I love my plates, but when my husband told me that he loved them, too I knew I made a Great choice! You cannot go wrong with these dishes!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the options! My husband and I registered for these plates, bowls, and coffee cups but in grey and cream for our wedding registry. We love them so much. We can mix and match the colors and have a new fresh look when we want a change. We received most of our gifts from crate and barrel and drive to Austin any chance we get to buy new products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful but I wish they have glazed both sides I love the design, it's beautiful! The only thing that I don't like: the finishing of the bottom part... It's not glazed, it gets stained and it's impossible to clean... The ceramic absorbs the stains. The good part it's not very noticiable bc is just in the other side of the plate.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing Unlike the Mercer bowls, the bottom of the plates are unfinished and make a terrible noise (think nails on a chalkboard) when stacked. Also, the lip on the plates is not high enough to prevent food from spilling off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them I purchased these about a year ago. They are very durable. I love the lip on them, it helps hold the food on the place without sliding off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too thin Although I love the other coordinating dishes, the Mercer dinner plate is too thin - simply doesn't feel substantive enough for a dinner plate, and I'm always concerned about it breaking in two!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great style--elegant/casual I have used these as my everyday dishes for the last 14 months with our family of 4 (w two teenagers). I love the stylish shapes of each piece of the set. I shopped for dishes for quite awhile. I must admit when I first opened them I was surprised. They seemed thin-I worried about the sturdiness and the bottoms of each piece are not glazed. They have held up wonderfully. I love the hammered texture and sheen. The way the light reflects off of them is very attractive. I also wanted reasonably sized plates and bowls for my family for healthy portion control. Sizes are just right. I also opted buying all sizes of bowls. I love the options. I love the small ones-perfect for a muffin, cookie, or fruit. The standard bowl is perfect for salads, cereals and soup and I love the large ones for big salads and pasta--looks "restaurant elegant". I also love the white canvas for all meals. It is easy to find table linens and decorate holiday tables. The fact that they are porcelain makes them much sturdier than a stoneware. These dishes have an artisan look w the slight variation in each piece yet they stack nicely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fun look... I've had these dishes for a while now, and at first I was afraid they might be too fragile for everyday use...but so far not a chip or break! I am careful with them and try to hand wash, but occasionally they do go in the dishwasher. I love all the pieces and am very happy with my purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, clean and simple! I bought these plates at Christmas after receiving a gift card. They are beautiful! They aren't feather weight, but they aren't heavy either. I like that they can go either way on the spectrum of every day vs occasional. I'm thrilled with this purchase. Another thing - I bought them online, so when they arrived - wow! The packing was crazy good! Very happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and simple I bought these dishes in November. I absolutely love them. They are a perfect white and the shape gives an interesting look. I paired them with the grayish chargers and I love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Artsy and Quality I've purchased the entire set of the Mercer collection as my everyday dishes. I love the artsy characteristic of them - uneven, hand made look and feel of the finish. I've had the set for about a year and no chips or breaks, therefore feel the quality to be outstanding. Plus, if you do break one, it won't break the bank to replace it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dinner plate I was looking for a dinner plate with a substantial lip. If you are tired of food running off your plate as you eat while standing, or while walking to the table, this product solves that problem. The look it also fabulous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have for entertaining! I bought these for a large party I was hosting. I needed a lightweight buffet plate that could hold dinner food for my guests. Appetizer plates were too small, and most dinner plates too heavy. These were stackable and presented well to the guests. Much better than paper plates, and I used a Sharpie to write my guests names on them (so they can keep track of their plates throughout the evening). The sharpie came off with windex easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Dishes! I bought serving set for 8 (without mugs). I love the look and feel of these dishes. They look handmade and they are very light and feel like fine china, but are not fragile. The price is amazing for the quality

Rated 5 out of 5 by from casual yet elegant Love my Mercer dinnerware. I chose not to register for fine China so I wanted to find dinnerware that was casual yet elegant. This fits the bill! Also, it is surprisingly durable!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice look I purchased these plates for my chef son who wanted interesting plates for special presentations. This plate fits the bill - and they are beautiful, too. Nice texture, pretty sheen. I should have bought some for myself!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from beautiful I have these for Daily eating and decor on my Farm Table. This set was just what I was looking for. I wanted white square dinnerware but everything I saw was so typical and everything looked alike. These have texture and not every piece is perfect. Beautiful modern rustic pieces I was looking for. I think I may get the round as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Dinnerware I ordered dinner plates, salad plates and bowls from the Mercer Dinnerware collection -- I couldn't have been more impressed. The plates and bowls are wide and their weight is substantial. The shape of this collection is modern, but not stuffy. I love handmade ceramics, and the variations in each piece give them that quality. I'm a little obsessed . . . .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just a plain, boring white plate I am obsessed with the whole Mercer line. I have the round dinner plates, round salad plates, and several of the large rectangular serving platters. If you want white dinner ware that is not just boring standard stuff, I think these are a great option. Other comments called them rustic which is a good way to describe them. I like that each plate is a little different. The little dimples on the plates catch light really well so these plates look dynamic. I also really like that the rims are only slight. They have a good feeling in your hand when you hold them, not too light like they are flimsy or delicate but because of their style they don't seem bulky either. These aren't like other generic white plates so, though I highly recommend them, you should just be prepared that, if what you want is a totally plain white plate, these aren't that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and subtle! I own a few pieces of the Mercer dinnerware and will purchase more. I have used the dinner plates to serve appetizers in addition to regular use. I like white dinnerware but sometimes I would like to serve with a bit more character. The Mercer Dinnerware offers this with a low rim and very subtly textured surface. These are elegant and subtle while still providing a unique quality. This is hard to find at such a reasonable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Mercer collection rocks The design of this collection is fantastic - classic with a side of rustic. I bought a set of Mercer plates, bowls, and mugs about a month ago and am thrilled with them. They're thin, and might look delicate, but we're pretty hard on dishes and these have already held up to being dropped or put down hard. The plates have a small profile, stacking well and not taking up a lot of cupboard space.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Modern and rustic I really enjoy these plates. They make for a lovely table presentation. The only concern I have is that the bottom of the plates are not glazed, which was a little disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these! They look great, and they stack incredibly well in my cabinet. I love that these plates are totally flat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sizes I bought this about 6 months ago for every day use and some entertaining. I have two different size plates and the small bowl, which all stack well and make for a nice place setting. The bowls are great for a small dessert or starting off with a dip or salsa. I most like the durability of the product. I am pretty rough as far as washing dishes goes and these can take a beating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Dinnerware! We registered for the Mercer Dinnerware set of plates, bowls and others for our wedding and have been SO pleased with their simplicity, durability, and character! Their minimalist design makes them stand apart from other dinnerware while also being reasonably priced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unglazed items are not a problem For those worried about the bottom of ANY unglazed items...It can easily be remedied with regular wood working sandpaper...Just rub the unglazed surface, that touches on your table, lightly until smooth. How long will depend on the grit, fine or heavy, of the sandpaper used. It will smooth out nicely and won't scratch your tables! Takes just a minute or two!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Plates I love these plates. I bought them as my all purpose dinner ware and have been very happy with my purchase. These plates are somewhat light weight without feeling cheep at all which I really like. I'm not someone who usually buys a lot of colorful or design heavy dishware because I want the food to be the focus on the plate. That being said, it's tough to find white plates that aren't totally generic or kind of boring. These have texture and a degree of style that makes you take notice of them even though they're simple. I highly recommend this whole line of plates and platters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Charming & rustic I bought these a few weeks ago and have been pleased with the purchase so far. I wanted something simple & elegant that would wear well and look good stacked on my open shelving. So far, so good! As other reviewers mentioned, the bottoms are unglazed. It hasn't caused any problems, although I was hesitant about that feature. They are fairly light weight, but they've gone through the dishwasher and in and out of the sink a few times with no issues.
