Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very attractive but scuff and stain These look great but are scratched after just a few weeks of use. One of the plates has stains on it that won't come out. They also have a rough surface and therefore don't always come clean in the dishwasher.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I bought 3 dinnerware sets, 12 appetizer plates and bowls and the serving pieces. They are substantial, look great on the table, and go with pretty much any theme!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beautiful but I really cannot recommend it. I love the look of this dinnerware, but I cannot recommend it. Here is why:1) The bowls are ridiculously huge. I kept my old bowls for fear of obesity issues for my son if he ate a full bowl of cereal in one of these each morning. The have a separate mini bowl which is cute but tiny.2) The dishes are really heavy. Picking up 4 or 5 above my head to put them in the cabinet hurts my shoulders (and I work out regularly).3) They scuff way more than I think they should for the price. The four we use over and over since December (i.e. about TWO MONTHS) are significantly scratched already.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! Purchased 8 four piece place settings and serveware about two months ago. These are our everyday dishes and I have nothing bad to say about them. They take the abuse of being moved in and out of the dishwasher everyday very well. We previously owned considerably more expensive dishes from another popular retailer that did not live up to my expectations. The Scavo set is beautiful, cleans easily and I'm not afraid to put them in the microwave. Honestly, I went to Crate and Barrel after seeing another set that I liked on the website. The ones I thought I liked paled in comparison to these. Really am impressed by the quality, durability and beauty!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from beautiful but disappointing After redecorating our home, we purchased this beautiful set to match our new decor. I love the hand-made look, the color imperfections and the fact that the pieces were not too match-matchy. This set made a gorgeous display on the table and looks like a million bucks; truly magazine-photography worthy. After owning and using these lovelies daily for three years, however, it appears the beauty is really only on the surface. Unfortunately, the quality of the pieces is truly substandard. The problems:1. Bottoms are not level. Plates, bowls & cups rock when placed on hard, flat surfaces, creating issues when cutting meat, say, or dealing with and over-full cup or bowl.2. As another reviewer noted, the finish scuffs. Badly. Sharp knives mar the plates and spoons scuff the bowls and cups.3. Staining. Some plates seem to have absorbed what looks like grease or oil stains, discoloring the finish. Luckily, due to the color irregularities from that "artisan" finish, this is sort of camouflaged by the nature of the glaze. But cups are rather obviously coffee-or tea-colored, and bleach solutions have not helped.4. Chips, cracks, & breakage. These dishes are like hot-house flowers! They do not hold up to a three-meal per day usage schedule! With no small children or rough teens to mishandle them, these dishes ought to be sturdy enough to stand up to frequent but careful usage. In three years, I have thrown away about a third of the entire set due to breakage. The take away:You get what you pay for. I was hoping these would last like the set I was replacing (which, thankfully I did not throw out or sell). My Noritake stoneware set has lasted 25 years. It is in better condition than this Skavo set. Of course, a Noritake dinner plate is $34 as opposed to $8. If you are buying a fabulous "look," or plan to use these only occasionally and treat them like your fine china, then it's worth the price. Don't buy them for your everyday workhorse set, though, unless you are willing to replace the majority of the pieces in 3-4 years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice dinnerware! We had been looking for some new dinnerware that is casual for everyday but can still be used for nicer occasions. The Scavo dinnerware fits the bill. Love the look of these dishes. They're a nice weight - not too heavy. We hope to e able to use them for many years to come.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice looking, but inconsistent If you wish to have a set of exactly identical dishes, this is not the collection for you. However, I don't mind small imperfections and my very detail-oriented husband made the clerks go through several boxes of plates, bowls, mugs, etc. to find the "best ones," so our set is pretty well-matched. We haven't had issues with scratching, chipping, or breaking, but we have only had them for about 6 months.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Set at a Great Price I bought the 16 piece set a few days ago and although I have not received the set yet, I was very pleased with the purchase as it came at 20% off and free shipping. No matter what it looks like, getting this set for under $90 is a great buy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice dinnerware We love our scavo dinnerware. We have had them for about a year and have small kids. A few pieces have chipped and gotten broken, but that is to be expected when getting dropped on our concrete patio or our hard kitchen floor. I would actually consider these to be very durable. I love, love the size of the bowls. We prefer large bowls for soup, pasta, cereal, etc and these are really nicely sized bowls. The set has a really nice look to them. I love how the outer edge has a metallic look to the glaze. You don't really get that from the picture, but in person the metallic color really set them off. I am getting ready to order some replacement pieces for a few that have broke. I would recommend these to anyone looking for an earthy, versatile, durable dinnerware set.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Dishes On a whim, we decided to replace the place settings we received for our wedding 20 years ago. Love this style for everyday, but classic/versatile enough to use for nicer occasions as well. Pattern on sale right now, so great value!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Dinnerware! I bought this a year ago and use it in my dining room and it is a gorgeous set. Colors match perfectly as shown, and I am very pleased with it. I keep checking back to see if they have added new pieces to it too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful pieces! I registered for this set for my wedding 2 years ago and am still in love with each piece! It has held up very well under very hard water and various dishwashing detergents. I have several of the serving platters too and each time I use them I always get complements.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money! Not only do these dishes scuff badly, making them ugly after only several month of use, but they break and chip easily. This is very disappointing because I searched for five years for the "perfect" set and invested several hundred dollars in this because I loved it. I now have to invest more money in replacing several plates and bowls that have either broken or are now unsightly from the scuff marks after less than one year of use. The cheap $50 set I had before this lasted me 12 years. I would not recommend wasting your money on these.
