Rated 3 out of 5 by from They are great but runs down batteries too fast! I bought these LED strings of lights because I wanted something small and decorative for year-round use. LEDs are normally very efficient so I was excited to save energy. When I got them I discovered each string requires 3 batteries, which was the first disappointment, but then I thought the batteries must last a long time, but my brand new batteries were all dead in 3 weeks! And I didn't have the lights on all the time. How could LED use so much energy? This is the main flaw with these. Others have complained about them not twinkling. It didn't occur to me that they might and I'm so glad they don't. I just wanted a simple elegant look and they are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delightful little lights The Twinkle String Lights are delightful little lights that add a wonderful touch to a holiday dinner table center piece. An unexpected but awesome feature is the auto shut off option after 8 hours. My only compliant is minor - the lights are shown on the Crate & Barrel website as being a warm yellow white light. In reality, they are a cool blue white light. At first, I was disappointed (I prefer warm white and thought that was the product) but they've grown on me. I have them in a centerpiece with a snowy theme. Would buy again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great addition! Just bought two boxes before they sell out again. These are very easy to use, pop three AA batteries in and you're set to go! The battery pack opens and closes without flaw. The only qualms I have is that the light is not a soft white, like the picture shows. More of a bright white light. And they don't twinkle but that's okay with me! Also these do not come with instructions so be aware.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from cool light .. n0t "soft" just n0t my favourite light colour .. white bright cool & I did expect a "soft" light as mentioned in item description + battery pack is large & weighty .. otherwise, makes for a good string line for aligning baubles upon ; )

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty! They are pretty, but they do not "twinkle". I was expecting that feature. They are just on or off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Version Works Well So Far, & Has Timer (?) I bought these today and despite the other reviews, C&B seems to have fixed the battery box. It does not require a screwdriver. Also, there are 3 settings on the box. They are not labeled but 2 of them turn the lights on. 1 of the two settings that turn the lights on shows the symbol of a clock, so I'm assuming it's a timer. However, these do not come with instructions, so I can't figure out if it is a timer, or how long they stay on. If I can figure it out, I'll report back! And, like the other reviewer pointed out, they do not flash. But they are very delicate, and the cord is a thin silver wire, so the wire bends into whatever shape or area you need it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Words mean nothing to Crate & Barrel How can C&B sell a product called "Twinkle String Light" that is says are "sparkling" with a "sparkle" when the lights shine steadily with no "flashes of light" and do not "shine with an unsteady light"? What's the point of naming something if you give it a name that fails to describe its key attribute? As for the product itself, it's actually very nice and the battery pack no longer features the little screws other complained about. It now opens easily with a hinge mechanism.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love Twinkle String Lights I love these little lights.  They run on three AA batteries but the lights last a long time.  I put one strand on a lavender plant I have.  A couple nights I forgot to switch them off but they kept on giving me that beautiful sparkle.  I want to order more but can't afford it right now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware Be careful - nowhere does it say that these are battery operated!  I am returning 20 sets today.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pretty! and useful in so many ways. Be sure to look at the bottom of the container for battery information. You will need a very small Phillips screwdriver.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love them but slightly flawed I had bought 2 sets of these because I thought they would make a good addition to my room. So I opened one of them today and found that one of the springs was missing from the battery case. I opened up the other and it was fine. I really like them but there really shouldn't be a spring missing...other than that they are absolutely lovely.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed These lights are adorable and I was able to shut them off for the first two weeks of use, but now they won't shut off. I have to take a battery out to shut them off which is somewhat of a task since the back is screwed on with quite a few screws. I would be willing to try another string of them because I love the effect of the soft twinkling. Maybe I just got a lemon.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from pretty but fatally flawed I bought two sets of these lights. One set had a break in the "cord" and didn't work at all, I put the second one in among my small tree collection on a shelf and they made the whole scene magical. I had put rechargeable batteries in this one. I used them twice and then decided to put in regular AA batteries. Since I have a very small Phillips head screw driver opening the battery pack was not a problem. However, once I had replaced the batteries I was unable to use the push button to turn them on again. The button seemed to slip and slide around under my finger and no matter what I did I couldn't get them to turn on. I checked the new set of batteries in another device and it was definitely not the batteries but instead a problem with the button. As much as I liked them I had to return both sets. Whoever came up with these lights has a great idea, sadly the execution failed miserably. I will pay more if they will actually work for an adequate period of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally worth it I have purchased battery powered lights like these before from the local store, I would be lucky to get 2 days of consistent power from them, I purchased the twinkle battery powered lights from crate and barrel and so far I have had them on consistently for 1 week and they are still lit up plus they make my garland look so beautiful, I would recommend these twinkle lights, they are totally worth the 9.99 I paid.
