Astor Floor Lamp is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality One shouldn't have to struggle with a lamp. Plug it in and illuminate the room - simple right? The Astor looks fabulous, but the "rotating" top doesn't fit on the stand. A light breeze would cause it to fall off. Very flimsy in build and a waste of money at this point.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from ON/OFF Switch very inconvenient I was happy to find this lamp, bought 2 about 8 months ago. I liked the size and aesthetic. Unfortunately, the light is VERY flimsy and the on/off switch isn't just inconveniently placed on the cord, but about 10 inches from the base of the light. SO annoying. On top of that, the light was always leaning (flimsy) and the metal circle that attaches to the base just came off of one of the lamps. I thought I could screw it back on, but no, it was GLUED ON. Yes, I'm serious. I usually love C&B but this was pretty ridiculous. Save your money or spend more on a better lamp. I wish I had. Two stars b/c of the convenient size and color/finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfectly Transitional This floor lamp is a little smaller than is typical. It is also very simple, like your favorite tee or gold hoops. These two features together, the size and the style, make it a good decorating investment. It can be moved around to suit so many circumstances and interior design choices. In addition, it has a very high end look with the metal shade and the marble base. The gold finish is muted and slightly antiqued. The foot switch is also a nice extra touch. The light it casts is low, so it is good by a chair while watching television or for providing a soft rich light. Couldn't be happier with the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Streamlined and elegant The streamlined silhouette of this floor lamp is perfect. We have big windows and don't want to block the view, but need light in the middle of our large living room. This elegant lamp really does the trick. The brass/gold coloring is rich and lovely. The marble base is a nice touch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Subtle glamour We bought this lamp for our bedroom to add soft lighting in our reading nook. It actually illuminates most of the bedroom and we were very surprised with how functional it is given its shade. The antiqued brass is very understated and sexy. We've placed the marble base where you can see its beauty, but also access the foot pedal. I agree it's not the most beautiful cord, but I think you have to be strategic about where you place the lamp because the base HAS to be seen.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty but a little flimsy I needed a lamp to add some more light in one corner of my apartment and fell for the unusual style of this one. Unfortunately, I think it's a little flimsy. The long, thin pole is actually made in several pieces, and the shape sits on a little pivot, so with those two features the lamp and the shade are just never very straight. You can't see it in the photo, but the little pivot mechanism at the top of the pole shows below the shade, and I'm not sure why it's there, because it makes the shade tilt (not sure I'd ever want a titled shade?) and the black plastic part the light bulb screws into becomes visible. The lamp is also turned on and off by a foot pedal on the cord, which is a little bit inconvenient. I wish I had looked it over more in the store before I ordered it online.
