Bunky Board is rated 3.4062 out of 5 by 64.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Want to stay up all night long? I do not recommend this product. Poor construction and squeaks loudly all night long with even the slightest movement on the bed. You'll see it on the curb for next trash pick-up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Squeaky after 6 Months We bought this bulky board with a bed about 6 months ago. The bed is great, but the bunny board started to squeak with every move in the bed. As noted in other reviews, it is pretty cheaply made. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy This bunky board is a wood frame, topped by a very thin piece of cardboard and covered with fabric. It will begin squeaking after a few months and will ruin your sleep. The best thing to do is to go buy 2 pieces of plywood cut to the dimensions of the bed, some fabric, and a staple gun. It'll cost you about $150 (depending on quality of wood and fabric), and take you about an hour. It'll be the best $150 you've ever spent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well Helped to give my bed a more firm feel. I'm very satisfied with the purchase! And I haven't had any issues with the sound or quality of it like some of the other reviewers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Noisy I purchased this for my king sized Colette Bed. It provides support and raises the mattress, BUT the squeaking and creaking is insane. It started with an occasional small creak weeks after we got it and has progressed to the point of any movement causing loud creaks. I have had this for less than 6 months. If noise bothers you, DO NOT buy this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY I bought these for the Collette bed in 2011. At the time the reviews were good! Not sure if anything changed but these squeak and creak horribly. Everytime someone rolls over in bed or gets up, both of us wake up. Blamed our sleeplessness on small children but kids have been sleeping through the night for a while now and we're still exhausted. Tried flipping them around to see if that would help but it doesn't. Looking into others or just going with plywood.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Noisy I bought this bulky board to go with the Colette bed. I love that its extra support, makes the bed look more "put together", but after only a few months it began making terrible creaking noises. I've put up with it for about 18 months but I think I'm going to have to get rid of it. Very disappointing Crate & Barrel

Rated 4 out of 5 by from love marimeko excellent quality and beautiful design. the only reason that I don't give it a 5* is because the duvet (full/queen) is too long for my comforter and it costs over $25 to get it shortened.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Necessary for Mattresses with coils We bought this to go with our new mattress and colette bed. It works perfectly and also priced fairly to other bunky boards from other retailers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Necessary for Platform Beds These boards work very well and add a little height to the bed.
Date published: 2013-03-06
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Serves the purpose but.... We have a wood platform bed (wood cross slats) that lost the center support (from the center of the bed to the floor) so our mattress started to sag. I bolstered the slats with two iron bars but the mattress was still uncomfortable so we bought one of these boards. It was delivered by two men and "installed" on the bed and really made the bed look better as the mattress is sitting up higher, 2 inches, makes it much easier to tuck in the sheets as well. So the bed looks neater.Right away my husband said he could feel a difference, the mattress wasn't sagging as much.I had to move the bed recently and picked up the bunkie board and as others have noted, it is made from CARDBOARD. I couldn't believe it! I have also noticed squeaking but it hasn't been too bad.We just ordered a memory foam mattress to replace our traditional mattress so I'm a bit worried about the weight and hope the bunkie board will support it enough.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Creaky! I buy from crate and barrel more than any other home furnishings store, and I generally consider them to have high standards of quality. So when I bought these bunky boards for our bed it was with complete confidence. They turned out to be cheap junk. They are made of thin wood wrapped in cardboard with a satin cover so it looks nice. But after about a year and a half it creaks everywhere. We have a tempurpedic mattress, which is generally known for being completely quiet, but now when I get out of bed in the middle of the night it sometimes wakes my wife up because of the creaking. We are going to have to get rid of them after less than two years! I had planned to make my own "bunky boards" out of plywood, which would have cost about a third as much and probably would have worked much better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Dissappointing Purchased the Tate bed of C&B's and a new mattress. Since I wanted to showcase the headboard and keep the profile low, I ordered the bunky board. After 2 weeks of use, it began to squeak with every move during the night. C&B customer service was excellent and promptly replaced it. Within 3-4 weeks, it too began to squeak. Quite dissappointed, the 2nd one was returned. Still searching for a low profile foundation for my platform bed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective Product! This product does exactly what it promises: makes your bed firmer and raises a mattress to the proper height. We were very satisfied at first. However, as stated in several other reviews, about 6 months in we started hearing squeaks every time we got in and out of bed. The noise got progressively worse and at this point is just ridiculous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Product I purchased this bulky board for a twin xl platform bed for my son to use in his new college apt. It fit perfectly with the bed frame and supports the matress, making this a perfect product.Crate and Barrel gave the extra customer service I needed to make this an easy purchase, too. I highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for us We have a bed with a base of criss-cross slats. This was fine when we had a normal mattress, but when the guys came to deliver our Select Comfort air mattress, they said, "No, you need a solid base." We considered buying some plywood at the lumberyard, but opted for the Bunky Board instead even though it cost a lot more...especially with shipping. But it is perfect for us, even raises the mattress just enough so that it is easier to tuck in sheets. It looks a lot better than plywood would have, too. The delivery guy was great; took the wrapping with him.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE my Bunkie Boards My daughters each have a cast iron Day Bed. I hated the way the bed skirts hung. I bought these bunkie boards and am sooo happy. Delivery was fast & easy. The men delivering were wonderful & took out all packaging materials with them. My daughters beds are GORGEOUS now & their bed skirts hang perfectly. Beds are also more comfortable!. I highly recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad construction Bought it to go together with Spoke bed. Now the the Spoke bed itself is fantastic. Already wrote a review for that separately. However when it comes to bunky board, sequeks started exactly described on the previous reviews after 6 months. It was little at first then it became extremely annoying.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful, just awful Agree w/ previous reviews regarding the sqeaky issue. Bought for Collette bed. Squeaks started after 4-5 months. Loud and extremely annoying. Made me hate the bed altogether. Would love to return it or trash it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent support I bought the bunky board a few months after purchasing the Asher bed (also C&B). Before the bunky board, the support felt ok, but it was a bit of a challenge to put the fitted sheet on the bed. Now, with the added 2", it's much easier to change the sheets, and I do feel it gives the mattress a more solid foundation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from box spring alternative We bought a platform bed (for use without a box spring) and our mattress proved unable to handle the upheaval. My husband's back problems instantly flared up. We just got the bunky board yesterday and are both hopeful that the extra support in bed will buy us more time before we buy a new mattress. Price was right and quality seems good. Delivery was timely.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Squeaky Squeaky Squeaky The squeak problem has been getting worse, and now I finally realize that the bunky board is the problem. Whenever you move around in the memory foam bed there is an awful loud squeaking. After taking the bed apart and rearranging everything, it turns out that the bunky board is the problem. I can now just push on the board itself and it will squeak.I would not buy this product. Next step is to contact Crate and Barrel for a solution.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gives solid, supportive feel to bed I ordered the Colette bed (also from C&B) and tried sleeping on it with and without the bunky board. I really like the extra support of the bunky board. It makes my bed feel more solid and stable underneath my mattress. If I never tried the bunky board, I don't think I would've complained that the bed frame wasn't supportive enough (it's fine), but now that I've tried sleeping with the bunky board I wouldn't want to go without! The 2" height also makes the sheets easier to change (and an added bonus is that the subtle increase in height makes the bed look more elegant!) If you're on the fence, and you can afford it, I would highly recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Squeak Squeak after 8 months Pleased to find a perfect product for the type of mattress I have. On arrival was shocked at the "cardboard". Now after 9 months I can say I would NOT recommend the product. Every time I get into or out of bed or turn over the board squeaks with every movement. I am going to remove them and go with plywood like I did on my previous bed. Be forewarned.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bunky board does change appearance of bed I ordered bunky boards to ensure a proper foundation for my twin mattresses. The bunky boards are slightly larger than the standard twin mattress and therefore can be seen sitting under the mattress. They could be hidden using bed skirts, but skirts do not suit the contemporary design of the room. We had to purchase fitted sheets that fit snugly over both the mattress and the bunky board to achieve a clean look.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst C&B purchase ever We bought a nice bed from C&B and also bought the Bunky Board to go with it. However it turned out to be of poor quality, with cardboard which offers no support and which started to sag quite quickly. The worst thing is that the cloth and cardboard started to rub against each other and against the wood, making an annoying squeaky noise every time you move any part of your body when you lie in bed. Getting in or out of bed was even worse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the money I purchased these because my daughter has a platform bed and it is always such a challenge to change the sheets. I use these along with the Tate bet and C&B mattress. I have never tried the bed without them so I can't speak to their impact on comfort but they certainly life the mattress just the right amount.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy This is just the right amount of support needed between my mattress and the slats of my bed to give the unit a solid, firm feel. After just a few nights on my new bunkie board my back feels great. The bed has also stopped its loud squeaking when I turn over of get up in the night with this addition. The board also gives a 2+ inch lift to the mattress making it look more grand and easier to change the bedding.Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Solution to my Problem Solved! I was hesitant to purchase this item after reading a few negative reviews. However, I really had no other options so I thought I'd try it and see for myself.I have a California King Size bed which uses wooden slats but requires a solid supportive foundation. A regular box spring would make the bed too high. So originally I purchased a set of 6inch low profile box springs. Still my bed looked undesirably high. I searched the net for a resolution but couldn't find anything here in the US. I thought I would just have to live with it or get a new bed. Then while browsing Crate and Barrel for household items, I found the Bunky Board. After debating if I should buy, I made up my mind and made the purchase. The shipment was quick and simple! I don't know how anyone could complain about this product, unless they're not using them properly. I found them to be made with quality and I know quality when I see it and feel it. They're strong, sturdy, and solid. They are ideal for beds that sit too high with box springs. They are useful if your bed uses "slats", and requires mattress support. Bunky Boards create a solid foundation for your mattress. They don't make your mattress feel hard or less comfortable. Now my bed looks great. I don't have to run and hop to get get in bed anymore Lol.This product is worth the money and I recommend them. I would buy them again and again. You're reading this review trying to make a decision just like I did. My advice, first do your measurements and then go from there. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. It was the solution to my problem, and it just might be the solution to yours also.
