Rated 2 out of 5 by from Difficult to Clean We received these glasses as a wedding gift. They are attractive but the top of the glass breaks easily. The worst part is that they are difficult to clean because of the open bubble at the base. This fills with food particles and water if you wash in dishwasher and is difficult to get clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love These! These highball glasses were a great addition to our bar. They hold a perfect "neat" pour, and look great.Because we handwash these glasses, we haven't had any problems with breakage or water becoming trapped in the bubble.Great, heavy glasses that are perfect for entertaining.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great glasses These glasses have great balance and weight - I bought a set of 4 for my husband with a bottle of nice bourbon. He loves the glasses - they are very bottom heavy so no tipping over :-) The only bad thing about them is that when you wash them, water gets caught in "the bubble" in the base of the glass so I have to shake out the water before putting them on the shelf. Overall - makes for a great gift!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from heavy, beautiful barware these glasses are beautiful in design and heavy, so you know they are excellently made. They look amazing sitting on our bar and my husband looks forward to a glass of whiskey with these

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elegant glassware I purchased two glasses with which I'm extremely happy. They are simple and look great displayed on a shelf. As previous reviews stated, they are heavy and feel comfortable in your hand. I've chosen to hand wash them though the product description states they're dishwasher safe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase These glass were a great purchase. I bought them for my boyfriend who is a whiskey drinker and he loves them! Great quality, and look sharp. The drop in the bottom of the glass is always a conversation. Guests just love them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made The Direction Doubles are such a great glass. We use them for scotch. They are sleek, classic and heavy. Such a rich looking glass at a great price. Only wish is that they held a tiny bit more - 10oz would be perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Glasses I bought these for my husband for Christmas and he really loves them. They are nice and heavy at the bottom and he uses them for cocktails and whiskey. I only wish they had a matching decanter...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Look and feel great Although fragile, these are perfect for the occasional glass of something special. We use them with a large ice cube.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gorgeous, but not practical These are beautiful glasses and make a great visual statement, but are not ideal for anyone who will not be hand-washing these. The open bubble in the base, the very element that gives these glasses such a great look, collects water and food particles when washed in a dishwasher. We washed these in a brand new dishwasher and still had to use a Q-tip to remove the debris. As others have mentioned, the glasses - especially the highball - do break somewhat easily in comparison to other items that we have purchased from Crate and Barrel. However, since we purchased 16 of these, we don't mind when they break because that brings us that much closer to a set of new and different drinkware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Objects of Beauty I've had my double old-fashioneds for at least 5 years. I love the weight - a pound and a half! - and the overall feel in the hand. I wash all my good glasses by hand, and dry them before there's any chance of spotting. Mine are still brilliantly clear and polished. You do have to be somewhat careful when washing, because their heavy bottoms render them unstable in any position but up, and you could easily lose your grip. But this is simply proper care of a good glass. Please don't be using the dishwasher, folks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 17 years later and still looking good We registered for these for our wedding more than 17 years ago and used these as our everyday glasses. (We usually give our kids plastic glasses though.) Several of them have broken along the way, but we've moved at least 8-10 times and our three kids who empty the dishwasher aren't very gentle with them.  I was happy to see that Crate & Barrel still sells them so I could buy more. I bought some today and will buy a few more this week. I wish the beer mugs were still available. The only downside is water and gunk get stuck in the small opening at the bottom. I recently bought the Otis glasses, which I plan to use as everyday glasses. I'll use my old (and new) Direction glasses for when we have company.
