The Story

Generous rectangular baking stone with raised handles is handcrafted of clay and special minerals from the Burgundy region of France. A proprietary kiln-firing method dries and hardens the stone for high heat-resistance up to 750 degrees. Unglazed surface allows for optimal moisture absorption for perfect crisp, brick-oven style crusts on pizza, breads and other baked foods. Suitable for oven, broiler and all types of grills.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from was great… but came with a crack I had to return it because it came cracked. I would love to buy this stone again (without a crack) if they still carried it. It was pretty thick and looked like it would have lasted a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good My baking stone broke, and I decided to try this one as a high end- intrigued that I could use it on the grill- worked fine, but I think it makes no difference to try to make pizza on the grill or in the oven- perhaps better in the oven as you can get a higher temp. If this stone has durability, it will be worth it- but I am not sure it has any advantage over a cast iron griddle.

Preheat the stone in the oven and you will get the perfect crispy on the outside, soft on the inside pizza crust (and homemade bread). I highly recommend this stone.

To my surprise, upon opening he started spewing the facts about Emile Henry products and he always wanted this product. I was thrilled I had made this purchase when I saw the enthusiasm and how well received this was. Needless to say....we have had many great baked breads and variations of pizzas when visiting his home!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST PIZZA EVER We received this from our wedding registry. We've been married a month tomorrow and we've used this 6 times already. I am in LOVE. It makes the best pizza crust to ever come out of your kitchen, I promise you. It will be crackly on the outside and chewy on the inside. All the best things about pizza. Just crank your oven up as high as it will go (Mine tops out at 550) and make sure you stone is preheating with it. You won't be disappointed!We leave the stone in the oven for everything. It's perfect, you don't need to find some place to store it!

I previously had a smaller round one, which broke (my fault), and I wasn't sure I wanted to spend the $ on this larger, rectangular one, but I finally did, and it was the best $ I have spent! I just keep the stone in the oven, and it does bake everything as well as advertised! I highly recommend it!!!

I baked a double batch of chocolate chip cookies the very next day and every cookie was perfect! I LOVE the way it evenly heats under all the cookies! And the large size is just what I wanted!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stone I got this stone as a gift and have been very pleased with it. I bake all my cookies, biscuits, etc. on baking stones and this one bakes evenly. Two advantages of this stone are: 1) the built-in handles, and 2) no "lip" over the sides to block air flow. My baked goods come out evenly browned and baked. Another bonus is that it's just slightly larger than my Pampered Chef baking stones, allowing me to bake more cookies at once.The stone is solidly constructed (read here - VERY HEAVY) and may be difficult for some people to store, handle, etc. However, I believe it to be a well-made product that will last for years to come. I definitely recommend this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this pizza stone! My husband and I got this as a wedding present, and since then, we make pizza about once a week. The crust comes out perfectly crispy, and the pizza is delicious! We had never made pizza before, but this inspired us to take a class and perfect the art.It's easy to clean (don't use soap and water!), and we store it in the oven at all times. It actually helps keep the oven warm when baking/cooking other foods as well. Make sure that you preheat the stone before making your pizza...never place a cold stone in the hot oven--it can crack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from hardy stone Like most amateur pizza makers, when I first started out making pizza and bread on this thing, I didn't necessarily follow all the proper instructions when it comes to care and usage of the stone. Right off the bat, I made the two cardinal sins of pizza making with the stone: didn't preheat the stone with the oven (hence soggy bottom) and washed it multiple times with soap and water.Now with that being said, I've had the stone for almost two years now and it hasn't cracked! So, remember, always preheat stone with the oven, and never clean your stone with water and soap, and just use a wooden spatula or some kind of semi-abrasive sponge to scrape off the excess. My pizza dough recipe is getting better, breads are tasting better each time I make them as I "hone" my skills with this stone. So all in all, this was a good purchase, and I am not quite sure if the cheaper brands will offer the same results and durability.

So far I have made baked breaded chicken which came out golden brown and moist, and chocolate chip cookies. It's not hard to clean, soap & water works well. I highly recommend.
