The look is clean and simple. But the skill and artistry that go into our contemporary open bench are anything but simple. Hand-wrought steel is hand-forged and handpainted in a custom warm brown blended from three pigments. Subtle hand-distressing adds the finishing touch. Bench has a spindle shelf topped with an ivory canvas cushion.

Entryway Helper
I purchased this product to assist with entry way storage. The bench is comfortable and can accommodate a decent amount of storage. In addition, the bench has greatly withstood the abuse of a toddler. The only negatives noted were the assembly was mildly difficult and the on-line picture makes the cushion appear white (it is ivory/off-white).

Porto Metal Bench with Cushion
it came within a week, after arrival, my husband, who does not like to assemble furniture, took 3 of these benches out ot their boxes, one at a time and put all three together in two hours. Beautiful, and the description is excellent. Extremely strong/sturdy, the cushions are 4 to 5 inches thick, have velcro on the bottom to velcro to the benches. These will last forever, and you can place items on the shelf below for storage, which is extremely adequate. They were packaged very well, protected, the little bag with the screws and such were taped to the box with a bright blue tape, so you knew where they were. We are very happy with these benches which are used to create a dining nook around our new table in the kitchen. You will not be disappointed.

Very Satisfied
Bought this bench to coordinated with the hardware on my distressed white bedroom set. The quality exceeds the price. It is a sturdy place to sit and also store the quilts and extra pillows we take off the bed at night on the shelf below.

Nice quality, matches the set
Bought the bench with the other pieces from the Porto collection. Matches the bed, looks nice at the end of it and I'm glad to have the piece for the set. Only complaint is it arrived missing pieces--but CB rush shipped them to us when we called.

Needs cushion covers
I love this bench and it goes great in my Master Bedroom with my Porto bed set, but like other reviewers the natural, cotton seat cushion shows wear very easily.
My family and I actually use this bench in my bedroom (it's not just for looks), so the cushion has gotten some abuse over time. To re-upholster it means that the velcro tabs will have to be removed and reattached onto the new fabric covering.

Beautiful & Functional!
I got this bench for the kitchen entryway, as a place to sit down and take of shoes, etc. It's wonderful. It was easy to put together. The bottom rack is just high enough that you can fit a row of shoes underneath it--great for a little extra storage space!

Good Bench for Home with no pets or kids!
This is a great looking bench with the only negative being the fabric cushion. If you have children or pets, I recommend either buying one with a removable cushion (from the padding) or having it reupholstered. After 6 months, I took the cushion to a reupholstery store, picked out a striped beige/brown tone fabric that was designed for heavy traffic use, and had it reupholstered. It looks fabulous.

Very difficult to clean
C&B does not sell the cushion separately, and the cushion cover does not come off (though the cushion itself can come off the bench). After owning this for a while I wanted to clean the fabric which had a few minor stains. The dry cleaner wouldn't take it because the cover doesn't come off the cushion, I tried to clean it myself and it only made the stains worse (left water rings around the stains).
Bottom line, only buy this bench if you are comfortable having it re-covered in the future. If not, buy one that sells the cushion separately.

Perfect Bench

Love it!
I was scoping this bench for a while before I bought it but was so glad that I finally did. It was easy to put together and looks AWESOME in my bedroom. Cushion is really comfortable too.
For anyone who lives in the city like I do, and may have difficulty receiving large packages, I suggest calling your local store and asking them to order it (if they don't have it in stock already) and picking it up at your convenience. It comes in a very large box.

nice but shows wear quickly
We have this in our entry way. The looks are perfect, and baskets on the shelf are a great idea, but the paint scratches, and once it does, it scratches more easily from those exposed areas. The cushion cover has velcro straps to secure it to the top of the bench, but one side or another will still often pop up and make it look uneven. The cover doesn't come off, and being cotton canvas, does show dirt readily, but the shape is easy to cover even without a sewing machine; you can just tuck it around.

great bench
really nice simple well-made bench, versatile styling, easy assembly. Wish the cushion cover came off for cleaning (reason for knocking off a star), but guess I will just get creative with a sewing machine when the inevitable time comes . In our ski-house entryway for 2 years, works very well for parties and for daily life. Hey C&B, any possibility of selling replacement cushions or covers?

Porto Headboards
They looked very nice upon delivery! Came to find out they did not come with pieces needed to attach to the bed frame. If you did not buy your bed frame from Crate and Barrel, you have to pay more money to get the attachment kit!

Great Product
I ordered this bench to use in the master bedroom and we are extremely happy with it. The bench was easily assembled and arrived in excellent condition. It was packed better than anything I have ever ordered on-line from any source. It looks great and I highly recommend it as a stylish and functional piece.

Goes with Everything
We really enjoy this piece. We set the bench by the front door and use it to put on our shoes and also use the shelf as storage for dvd's and games. The piece is so simple and classic that it goes with almost any style of living space.

Sturdy Yet Stylish Bench
The Porto Metal Bench is the perfect bench for our entry way. It was very easy to assemble, and with baskets on the shelf, a great place to store mittens, hats, scarves, etc. It is very sturdy and is very comfortable to sit on. The finish is perfect! We are thrilled with this purchase!

Great value!!
The bench was easy to put together and looks great in our entry way with a colorful throw pillow. The khaki color coushin works since you are primarily sitting on it for a short while and it doesn't get a ton of use.
We looked all over for a bench like this and they were mostly over $400. Great value! And it looks great!

Great Bench
We needed a bench that we could put at the end of our bed and when we saw this bench we knew it would work perfect. The Porto bench is very sturdy, easy to put together and a reasonable price. The drawback is that the cushion only comes in white & is not removeable for cleaning.

Love this product!
When I saw the entire Porto set, I know it would be great for my bedroom. This bench was no exception. I was hesitant at first because of the assembly but it couldn't have been easier. It took all of fifteen minutes. It is a classic piece and is extremely versatile.
