The Story

Contemporary sleeper plays off mid-century tradition with bold squared-off lines, clean track arms and a six-button tufted back, all covered in a richly textured charcoal weave. Inside, it's all 21st century. Innovative wood frame with spring-loaded sleeper mechanism and double padded handles make setup a breeze. And the seat and back cushions easily lift off with new snug fit foam roll attachments—not the usual zippers found on traditional sleepers. Luxurious 5"-thick high-density foam mattress is treated with stain-repellent and anti-microbial protection. Hardwood legs are finished a dark walnut.

After you place your order, we will send a fabric swatch via next day air for your final approval. We will contact you to verify both your receipt and approval of the fabric swatch before finalizing your order.

Allerton Queen Sleeper Sofa is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Queen size sleeper for a small room Purchased the couch 3 weeks ago based on passat review on how it will fit in a small room.  Totally true! Fits great in our 8x12 room, fits both ways when open and allowed for the adults on the bed and floor space for sleeping bags for the kids.  Wanted the foam mattress and it is Very comfortable!  Our guests slept sound and had no complaints!! Very happy, would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfortable sofa sleeper ever! While not inexpensive, this sofa sleeper is worth every penny of the cost. It was purchased for a small 10' x 12' room used as a sitting/reading room. At the same time, I wanted occasional guests to be really comfortable (not sleeping on a wire mesh trapeze as is the usual case with sofa beds). In addition, only 80" of wall space was available, which severely limited the choices for a queen sofa sleeper. The Allerton's design saves wall space: the queen model needs only 74", and while it's 41" deep (retracted), the lack of a gap between the back and the mattress means the bed needs 8" less space than a conventional sofa sleeper when extended. Operation is easy: grab the two handles, lift, and walk backwards.Design is mid-century, which blended well with the older pieces already in the room. To avoid a suede appearance, I chose the "vee life" microfiber, which is silker than the suede options. The comfort is amazing. The memory foam mattress gives amazing comfort, as comfortable as a real bed with foam mattress. Guests who spent last weekend here report that it's the most comfortable guest bed they've ever used. When retracted, it's a comfortable sofa for sitting or lounging. Finish is fairly firm, which I enjoy, though those who prefer a softer sofa might not be happy.Space-saving hint: the two back cushions can be laid on the floor (on their backing side, of course, not on the fabric side) with their long axes perpendicular to the sofa, and the bed will open over them, without touching the cushions, to save space in the room when the bed is extended. The seat cushions are too large to stow similarly, but stowing the back cushions under the mattress cuts the storage needs in half.Customer service was superb from start to finish, from the customer service agent who sent the fabric swatches to confirm my final color/fabric choice, to the delivery crew who set up the sofa and taught me how to operate the bed mechanism. I was so pleased with this purchase that I ordered two more sofas (Cameron line----so as not to have three similar sofas in two different rooms) within a week of taking delivery of the Allerton. The customer service agent told me that C&B used to have another sofa design with the Allerton's bed mechanism, but that it was discontinued.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfortable sleeper sofa! I don't own this, but I slept on one while visiting family.  It was incredibly comfortable.  At first I thought it was really comfortable for a sleeper sofa.  But when I awoke the next day I realized it was more comfortable than my own bed at home.  It's as firm a latex mattress (without a topper) at first.  Then it contours to your body without being as restrictive as memory foam, which is important if you like to roll over during the night.  Like most foam mattresses, it does not transmit movement.  Highly recommend this sleeper sofa for your guests' sake!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beautiful, but disappointing for everyday use I got the Allerton sofa about 2 years ago for a spare room. I loved the style and compact size. Very comfy queen bed is great for guests. I used the bed a couple of times the first year without any problem, but seldom used the sofa. About 10 months ago, I moved into a smaller space and brought along this sofa to use in my living room. With everyday use, I have noticed that the seat fabric (stock fabric) is wearing way too fast. The fabric has balled up and looks like an old worn out sweater - after only 10 months. I have also noticed that for my taste the seat height is a little to high and the seat depth is very shallow (I’m 6’ tall). The effect is a sofa you sit on vs a sofa you sit in. Fabric was the most disappointing part. Sorry Crate & Barrel, Allerton is not a winner.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Style lacking I looked at the Allerton during Crate & Barrel's furniture sale and came close to buying it for the extreme comfort of the bed. In the end, I decided against it because the sofa lacks style and the fabrics it comes in are synthetic and truly not attractive. I needed a sleeper for my living room, so it has to be something I can look at every day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and Comfy Got this a couple weeks ago after way too much research to serve as a couch/bed for the play/guest room. Nice sturdy, easy to clean couch with really comfy bed. Worth the money for sure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good sofa bed I bought this approximately 6 months ago and we have had several different guests sleep on it. As far as a sofa bed goes, it is pretty good. The only complaint I have gotten is that it is really firm. I add a down pillow topper to help with that, but it is what it is. It also took about 1+ months to "air" out....it had the new furniture smell that was pretty strong for our guest room/office. Overall it was better than any other sofa bed I've looked at or tried out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Acceptable, Looks great. Purchased this sofa as an extra guest bed in our basement outside our guest room. The sofa is used infrequently both as a bed or for seating. The fabric and button back is very nice looking. The stock fabric is very good. The back of the sofa is very square and deep, best suited for placement against the wall in a den/spare room. The cushion quality is medium but acceptable. There is no velcro to keep the seat and back cushions in place; there are fabric covered foam rods sewn onto the cushions that you are supposed to shove with your fingers into the cracks of the sofa to get the cushions straight and settled on the couch for both seat cushions and back cushions so on the queen, you shove down six sticks. I doubt my Mom could get this couch together with her fingers. You also need to shove the foam sticks back in when the cushions become dislodged from sitting. My husband and I have slept on the mattressand it was fine but wouldn't be for heavy weights. The new style mattress over the oldwire pull-outs is why we bought this and we would buy the new style mattress again. Ilive remote so mail order is my life. If I was shopping again I would not worry about the name but would look for the new style mattress and then examine quality and cushion attachment protocol. If you want something stylish for your little used den andare not price conscious I think you will like this. I would not recommend it if you look straight on to the front of the couch walking into the room because if you use the sofa for seating you will always see gaps where the cushions pop up when you walk into the room. Mine is on a side wall so I don't have to look at the gaps. I confirmed with Crate and Barrel that the plan is to shove the cushions back in with your fingers to get them in place or replace when they pop out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my new sofa I received my sofa about a month ago and I am very pleased. It is so comfortable and the quality is outstanding. My only problem is a minor one, which concerns the cover that fits over the bottom of the sofa. It is secured by Velcro and has gaps on either end, so it does not fit tightly. That is my only complaint.
