Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Pickles I made 5 gallons (2.5 batches in this 2 gallon jar) of amazing garlic dill sour pickles. They are refrigerated only after 10 days on the counter fermenting in a salty brine with 1 gallon water, 3 heads of garlic chopped, 6 tblsp sea salt, raspberry leaves for tanins, coriander seeds, mustard seed, fennel seed and dill seed, red pepper flakes. Its' a recipe I got from the herbangardener blog and I would not tweek it for anything, the pickles came out perfect every time. My husband and son have kept up with production, so I know they've had a lot of pickles this summer, there is still room in the refrigerator!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the look but... I bought 5 of these jars for my long term food storage. They are beautiful jars however, if you're looking for long term storage they don't fit the bill. Good for decorative items only. There is no rubber gasket on the lids to keep the air away from the product such as sugar or flour. If anyone knows how to add a gasket, then I'd be a happy camper. Still have 2 unboxed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastically Simple Honestly, I ordered this jar to make my own flavored vodka - you've seen it in restaurants, take the rings of pineapple and stack them just so and then cover in a couple of gallons of vodka. Give it a week or two and voila! Seriously, it's the best stuff you've ever tasted (dangerously so, but only use fresh fruits, please; unless you're using candied ginger). Since we aren't always focused on liquor, the jar often holds other things on the counter and even looks beautiful when empty and catching the sun just so. All in all, the two gallon size is huge, but it's a quality jar for the price, has a ton of practical uses and can fit in any decor. I intend to get other sizes for more uses and only wish they made an air tight version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have This jar is very large, substantial, and attractive. Find space to leave it out in your kitchen, and you will find many uses for it: sundries storage, lemonade receptacle, a terrarium, whatever strikes your fancy. Even if it just sits on your counter and serves no earthly purpose for a spell, it is way cool. Don't hesitate. And it's made in the U.S.A. - another fine attribute.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My mom loved them! I ordered the whole set for my mom for mother's day, 1 large, 2 mediums, 1 small. She absolutely loved them! She'd kept mentioning how she wanted new canisters soo badly; glass ones with big mouths, specifically. She keeps flour in the large, sugar and tea bags in her mediums and rice in the small. A couple weeks after she got them we were watching our favorite cooking show, Barefoot Contessa, and saw that Ina had the exact same canisters! Which makes my mom love them even more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decorative and functional! My dog's food storage has never been so decorative! It's the perfect size to hold a decent amount of food (I put in 40 cups of dry dog food!), and it looks really nice! I'm buying 2 more to hold food for my cat and other dog. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Change is Good! I've been wanting these glass jars for my kitchen for the longest time. So, I decided to wait no longer and Im glad I did. They are PERFECT! They will go with any kitchen decor - they make my counter tops look so clean & clear. I use the 1gallon for Flour, bought (2) .5 gallon, one for sugar the other for tea bags and I can't wait to use my two gallon jar. It will display all the candy my 3 children get this Halloween! and Holidays there after

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Big Size I ordered all three of these jars and this one is just too big. I ended up taking the lid off and use it to store my cooking utensils next to the stove. The quality is great. I've had this jar for about 4 years and haven't ever had a chip on the rim!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Huge! I LOVE these jars. I registered for all sizes for my wedding. This one ended up being much larger than I was expecting. It's great if you do a lot of baking and have a lot of counter space. If not, stick with the smaller sizes. Even the one gallon is great for flour. They look great in my kitchen!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value This jar is a great value! It's really huge and quite versatile. Pile in a bunch of candy, cookies or other kitchen staples to keep at hand.Alternatively, I love this filled with a couple of inches of sand and a bunch of shells, a ton of candles (which I can't stop myself from buying) or wine corks and other knick knacks that look great on a shelf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the best I have been lookiing at this for a long time. I finally decided to order the large one. I love it. I use it to put packaged snack bars in. Can store a variety of different ones and still be able to pick out one because of the cannister being clear. I am getting away from plastic in my kitchen, so plan on ordering more in different sizes.
