Moccamaster 10 Cup Coffee Maker is rated 4.4706 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Coffee We drink a lot of coffee - this coffee pot makes great coffee. One draw back is it doesn't keep the coffee hot enough - have to preheat the thermos and heat the water in the microwave

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Coffee Maker, worth the price When visiting my parents recently, I was blown away by the coffee they brewed for us. My parents are are big time coffee people and spend a lot of time and money perfecting their morning brew. They were raving about this coffee maker so I decided to take their advice and purchase my own. It is fantastic. The coffee is the perfect temperature and tastes like it was made in a french press. It is very simple and easy to use. Only thing I miss about my old coffee maker it the auto set feature. My husband and I are very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good coffee.primitive design I've had this for a number of years and, yes, it does make a very good cup off coffee because the company did not skimp on the heating element. Copper. What they did skimp on is the rest of the machine. The basket is poorly designed. It does not have a great way o shutting of the doing if the coffee has not finished dripping. What a chronic mess. My next coffee maker will be more user friendly and sophisticated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Coffee Maker I have ever owned! I have owned this coffeemaker for 3 yrs.  It makes exceptional coffee!  I first read about this machine in a cooking magazine.  It was rated as the best on the market.  It is simple to operate and clean.  Coffee stays warm in thermos for hours without burning the coffee.  Worth every penny!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Coffee This coffee maker makes a good hot pot of coffee every day. We have tried several different blends of coffee and you can actually taste the difference between the beans in a good way. While the machine was expensive it will pay for itself in no time with money saved not needing to go to the coffee house to get a good cup of coffee!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Best & worse The Moccamaster makes a spectacular cup of piping hot coffee. The only problem with it is about 10% of the time the mechanism that allows the coffee to flow from the brew basket into the carafe doesn't open and all of the coffee and grounds overflow out of the filter onto your counter tops. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this particular model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second Review, Defferent I wrote a review last year under the nickname "Big time coffee Guy". I wanted to take a moment to explain that I had actually purchased a defective Moccamaster of this model. I returned it to my local Crate and Barrel, with no problems, and now have only positive things to say about this coffee maker.I had a few problems with the first one I bought. One being that the coffee in the carafe would cool down too fast. Turns out, the seal on the lid was not locking properly.Second, the coffee did not seem to brew at the supposed hottest brewing temperature of around 200 degrees. I used my Oneida thermometer to check the water as it dripped in to the basket. Not sure what happened there, but that was a bummer, seeing the reason I bought it was for the hottest brew temp.Thirdly, it overflowed twice on me while brewing. What a mess it was, twice! I used a gold filter that I bought, immediately after purchasing the Moccamaster, for maximum flavor. Technivorm actually does NOT recommend using one, but I said what the heck. What happened was the water dripping in the basket was not filtering out of the filter fast enough, thus for, overflowing the hot water and coffee grounds everywhere.I was extremely mad brought it back. My girlfriend and I loved the coffee it made but she didn't agree with me exchanging it for another one (same model). We both felt that it wasn't worth the money after that disaster. So I brought home the same Moccamaster anyway.THIS time it was different. Everything worked. I tested the hot water at 197 degrees, and the seal on the lid was good. However, it overflowed on my girlfriend again. This time with a regular #4 Melita coffee filter. I ended up unscrewing the bottom of the machine to clean out the coffee and grounds, and found that the little white button ( the one that is at the bottom of the machine that the carafe pushes in, in order to start brewing) was sticking. It's a very delicate button and can pop out of place if not careful, which is why they don't want you fixing these things yourself. All I did was clean out around the button and BAM, good as new and have had no incidents for nearly a year. This machine, in my opinion, is the best of the best (for home brewers). This machine is an investment. If you love coffee as much as I do, it's worth the $300. If you find that something isn't right about it or it isn't matching expectations, than there's probably something wrong with it. Just return it for another one because its probably that particular one that has a defect. Keep in mind that these a hand crafted. They probably are not all perfect.I am still excited that I own the Moccamaster. I enjoy every cup and have friends over to enjoy it to. They are wowed by how hot and flavorful it makes the coffee.I would say that you have about 1-2 hours to finish the coffee in the sealed carafe before having to heat the last cup in microwave. I'm not saying that its cold at that point, just that it my preference to want it hotter. I can tell you that I made a pot the other morning at 7 am and didn't finish it all. When I opened the sealed top to clean it at 5 pm, there was steam coming out of it still. It has to just depend on personal taste or expectations I guess. I saw another review on here saying that it doesn't brew hot enough and that it doesn't stay hot in the carafe. I can tell you, from experience, that it does! You have to take care of this like a baby. You can't beat it up, tighten the sealed top too tight, dent the carafe, never clean it, use bad tap water, or use bad coffee. These things can break the good seal or affect the way it works. Many things come in to play when making the perfect cup. People don't understand these things and take it for granted.Definitely buy this coffeemaker. You can't go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving our coffee! My husband and I didn't really need a new coffee maker but he heard about this one on America's Test Kitchen and we quickly realized we did need a new one! We liked our old Krups coffee maker but we love our new Moccamaster! Every cup of coffee is delicous. No, it doesn't stay super hot for hours but it's still good luke warm after an hour or so. I like hot coffee so do warm it up in the microwave without it getting a burned or bitter taste.Expensive but so worth the price! We have no regrets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much better than I expected I bought this after I saw the review on Americas Test Kitchen. Having NEVER spent this much $ on a coffee maker I thought I was making a huge mistake... Well- I wasn't!After 4 months, I love this machine, the coffee is good, the carafe works great, the whole machine looks good on my counter, and I love that it isn't made in China and my $ is going to actual people, in a small factory. I try to put my money where my mouth is, and this product allows me to do that. My husband and I get up at different times, sometimes a 3 hour difference and the coffee is still warm enough to drink. No- it isn't a full 200 degrees after 3 hours, but I don't find myself heating it up. Lastly, I love how there is no not pot under the carafe. I am able to clean every element of this pot without fear of corrosion (like my last pot).In short, I would recommend this to someone who is willing to spend the money, wants really good- non burnt (as there is not hot pot), it kept hot for a while, and wants to support a smaller company.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Really???? I consider myself to be a coffee connoisseur. I've learned a great deal about coffee and how it should be made. I've also studied up on coffee makers and came to the conclusion that this was "the One." I don't care about LED screens, 24-hour timers, or single cup coffee makers. This one has what I wanted all along...the perfect brewing temperature ( 195-205 deg.). It is no doubt pricey, but I love my coffee and wanted to make the investment. It was the kind of feeling of being excited and sick, all at the same time because you just spent $300 on the thing. Couldn't wait to use it. I had been using a French Press coffee maker for the past 3 years and was fine with it. The problem with that, was the constant cleaning, the mess of emptying the coffee grounds after every use (no thanks), and having to microwave the last cup because it cools down fast (that ruins the coffee). The Moccamaster looks awesome and has just one button, on and off switch. It fits on the counter with plenty of room to the bottom of the cabinets. My Problem: I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED. This hasn't lived up to what it's supposed to. I've only had it for a week, too. The Moccamaster claims that it brews the coffee at 200 degrees, which is boiling water, and does so with a copper element inside the machine. If it didn't boil, the water wouldn't push itself back up through the reservoir and into the filter. Ok, that's believable, and the coffee does taste great, BUT, after the coffee brews and you're ready for a cup with milk/cream and sugar, forget it, it's a little more than warm. That kills me. I'm not sure if it's something with the maker itself or what. They Moccamaster also claims that it keeps the coffee in it's "amazing" carafe, between 175-185 degrees, for hours. This is not true. Directly after brewing, I stuck an Oneida thermometer into the hot coffee and it took the temp at 165 degrees. Keep in mind, again, that milk or cream will cool this down a lot more. How, on God's green earth, does boiling water cool down that fast?!? So, where's my hot cup of coffee??? I still have to microwave the remaining coffee that is in the carafe, just like the French Press. At least with the Press, I had a steaming hot cup of coffee. Oh, and just so I don't miss anything, I do heat the carafe with hot water before brewing, which is supposed to help keep the coffee hot. This method doesn't help. It's also not good with pouring out of either of the two tops that the carafe comes with. This machine makes me want to poke my eyes out. I'm contemplating returning this item but am unsure because the next best coffee makers are in the thousands of dollars area, and I really don't want to go back to being my French Press' slave. This machine is better than most. That is why I put "yes" to recommend. I don't believe that it's worth the money. You're basically paying a lot because it's handcrafted. The assemblers at Technivorm are also said to have tested each and everyone of these, to ensure that it works to it's potential before putting them into a box and shipping them out.Hope this helps some people. Maybe someone can even give me some answers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, I have found a coffeemaker that brews a good cup of hot coffee and keeps it good and hot for hours in it' s thermal carafe. In 5 minutes the brewing cycle is finished. The design of this product looks sleek and modern sitting on my kitchen counter and one push of the button begins the start of a perfect cup of coffee.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only one of it's kind I searched the internet world to find a stainless coffee maker that did NOT have toxic plastic parts and the dreaded "warmer" that slowly ruins most pots of coffee. Finally found this Moccamaster and I found it at Crate&Barrel. Easy to clean and faster than any coffeemaker on the market. Plus I love the fact that it's hand forged , unique in every way! My search is over!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dripless Pour This product makes a great cup of coffee at the right temperature! The coffee pours without dripping which was a very big concern of mine. You can purchase a metal filter for it but I would recomment using the paper filters as there better.i.e. no coffee grounds in my cup! However, I'm having problems with my on / off switch. The coffee pot & filter are in place and the power doesn't come on right away when I turn it on. Currently, I'm wondering if there is a minimum power on delay or perhaps I just have an intermittent switch.Additionally, I love the fact that there in no hot plate which contributes to burning the coffee. Finally, I'd highly recomment this purchase.
