Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love 'em I use these durable beauties all the time. Need to run an errand? Slap the lid on and take it with you. Actually, I keep the lid on quite a bit, as I'm prone to spillage. Oh and breakage. Did I mention that? In fact, that's why I bought them in the first place. I kept breaking glasses, even during low-danger tasks, such as picking them up and setting them down. Apparently, I possess brutish strength. :) I've even dropped these on my kitchen floor (it's vinyl); they bounce a bit and lie there nonchalantly.... almost... bored. "What's the big deal?! I'm fine!" they seem to emanate. Ahhh... it's the little things in life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GLAD KEPT IN CATALOG I first got a set of these lids for the jars about 20 years ago. Yes, 20. They are great storage items for small left over food. Lids fits tight after YEARS of on/off. A couple of years the lids and jars went to work with me daily and held my raspberry breakfast smoothe. Never had one spill! I just ordered more as my husband has misplaced a few lids. So I bought extra lids and 6 more lids/glass combo as these are items I can see used in my life forever! Glad they have kept them offered in the catalog but they are a good thing so why discontinue?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love these but be careful with washing! I adore these glasses. I have them in both of the regular sizes. I have now had them for 6 years and my dishwasher and my husband have beat them up terribly. The rims have gotten tons of chips. That being said after 6 years, 2 kids, and a husband who must throw them around the kitchen or something most of my glasses have survived and I am going to buy more to replace the ones that need it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Working works I love these jars and lids. I ordered extra lids because I could. Lids have a way of getting damaged ... in the dishwasher and the like. I really like that the lids work for both size jars. The jars are perfect for fruit (lemons & limes) and leftovers. The small one is absolutely the right size for 1 can of dog food. I use them all the time. The very large ones (not on this page) are great for homemade soups, casseroles and main course dishes. You can purchase extra lids for that size as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute best everyday glasses ever! I was so happy that Crate and Barrel carried these glasses and hope they remain in inventory a long, long time. After initially finding a set of 6 years ago at another store, it was a hunt to find more. The larger size holds a 12-oz soda with plenty of ice, and is very versatile for beer, rootbeer floats, fresh lemonade or ice tea. They frost up well in the freezer for cold drinks and fit well in your hand. They hold up to bounces off the kitchen counter and rattling around the dishwasher's top and bottom shelves. The smaller size is perfect for orange juice in the morning or even a scoop of ice cream when serving desert.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Purchased Ever I seen these glasses in a magazine picture and loved the look of them. I found out where they came from and purchased both sets. My family uses them daily. They are the best quality drinking glasses I have ever owned. I love the wide base of the glass because they don't tip over as easily if you bump them. The name " working " glass says it all. I get lots of compliments on them from everyone. Thanks Crate & Barrel !!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After all these years still the best Over 20 years ago I purchased a couple of both the tall and short glasses with lids at a store. I use them to store stuff and daily use them for carrying breakfast/lunch to work. I have added more over the years as they are so useful. Never have the plastic lids cracked nor lost their tight grip. The glasses still look new. I like that you can usually buy extra lids in the stores as I have misplaced a few. This is not a CHINA product for a throwaway society but something that will last for many decades. That you Crate and BArrel for always finding good quality, great products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable + functional + cheap = classic These might be different from those I began buying in the late '70s, but I swear that I still have some of that vintage, made by Luminarc in France. All told, I think I have about 30 between the "500" 14 oz. size and the taller 21 oz. tumbler. They use the same lids which make them perfect for storage. Just don't microwave with the lids on; they'll warp! The only problem I've ever had with the glasses is a slight tendency for the inside of the rim to chip if stacked and manhandled. Otherwise, this is one of the few things in the world that still works, is still available, and is CHEAP! And Crate&Barrel has the best price around. You can't go wrong with these. What a deal!!! (I also like the deep, cobalt blue ones.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More bang for your buck Here ismoney well spent. A simple classic desgn provides a glass that functions well on the table. Used with the well fitting lid, it doubles its productivity in the kitchen, to store leftovers, or smaller amounts of juices. In short, an excellent purchase. I owned about a dozen 10 years ago. They broke over time. I missed them in my latest house, and just purchased a dozen more, with lids of course. Both the tall glass and the short glass. Highly recommend them to the young and new, but as well to seasoned cooks and "empty nesters". A great handsome purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too bad.... I like the concept of this glass. It can store foods, etc. I purchased 16 of them, but now down to 12 within one month. For some reason, the bottom cracks so easily. I am not abusing these glasses, but I just find those cracks. Never dropped, nor banged. It is supposed to be sturdy. I don't feel like drinking from the bottom cracked glass, so those become a pencil stand or something else.I wanted to like it, so too bad. I won't buy this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Working Glass I have been using Working Glass for over 29 years. They are a must have, can't live without item for our house. We use them for drinking and storage every day, They are almost indestructible except for the lids. I am happy to find these glasses and lids online here at C&B. My only concern is that they are limited quantities. I ordered lids which are out of stock and on back order. I hope my order will be filled since I have been trying find and replace lids for over five years now, C&B I know I am not the only one! Please find a way to keep these available to us dedicated Working Glass users. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for freezing/storage I own at least two dozen of these because they're so useful in the kitchen. I store leftovers, especially liquids or things that stain plastic like tomato based sauces. I use them extensively for freezing my green chili or pesto sauce. They keep the item fresh tasting and can go directly into the microwave for defrosting and heating. They're just the right size for homemade salad dressings. I much prefer glass for so many of my homemade sauces and dressings and these are absolutely perfect ... no plastic taste. I obviously just ordered more!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very nice multipurpose glasses Love these! We recently bought 8 of each size to replace the plastic cups and tumblers my family has been using. They are nice, heavy, sturdy glasses, comfortable to hold and drink from. We used a 3/8 in hold punch (it came with an inexpensive kit for making grommets) to punch holes in some of the lids for straws - it worked beautifully for making a spill-resistant glass for the car or for the kids to use, and was less expensive than the acrylic lid/straw tumblers we had been buying! We did also get extra lids to keep intact, so the glasses can be used as closed containers when needed, which is a nice bonus. Very pleased with the product and with Crate and Barrel shipping (shipped quickly for a reasonable flat rate, and packaged incredibly well).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, versatile, pretty =) I got these a few years ago and every couple of years I add to my collection. I have the tall ones and the stubby ones. The tall ones are my teen-age son's favorite glasses for swilling milk. I use the short ones for serving and storing salad dressing ( I have the white lids) and for holding silverware when I have a buffet. They are great drinking glasses for the younger kids, too. The facets really catch the light and they look so pretty. They are hard to break, but it can be accomplished by a particularly determined child.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good product I was very pleased at how these glasses were shipped to me. The packaging was the best I have ever seen, they would never break in transit. As far as the glasses, I would like them to be a little bit narrower, this would help holding the glass when it is heavy with a beverage. I will use them for drinking glasses plus storage of food, coffee, etc. I am trying to get away from plastic storage containers, they tend to smell lousy after washing and using for a while. I would like a smaller glass to be made.
