our goals
We’re setting urgent 2025 goals with transparent tracking and reporting, and these goals are just the beginning.
100% greenguard
gold certified
We’re growing our GREENGUARD
Gold Certified Crate & Kids furniture to
100% by 2025—from dressers and
beds to cribs and bassinets. Screened
for more than 10,000 chemicals and
emissions, GREENGUARD Gold Certified
furniture contributes to cleaner air
for kids and their families.
60% certified
preferred fibers
Climate action starts with the materials we
choose. To move toward a more sustainable
supply chain, we’re increasing our use of
organic, recycled and responsible materials.
We rely on the Global Organic Textile
Standard (GOTS) and Textile Exchange
Certification Standards to define preferred
fibers from raw materials to final product.
50% fsc®
certified furniture
Wood is one of our key raw materials,
so it matters how we source it—for the
climate and our customers. Through our
goal of 50% FSC-certified furniture by
2025, we’re supporting the gold standard
of sustainable forest management while
working to halt and reverse degradation
of the world’s forests.
our impacts
We’re measuring our impact on the environment, transitioning to responsible materials, expanding
quality-tested products, and committing to our communities at work and around the world.
green distribution centers
We’re reducing the environmental impact of our
operations. The Green Building Initiative awarded our
Romeoville, Illinois, distribution center Three Green
Globes Certification for demonstrating leadership in
environmental efficiency. At our Tracy location in
California, we installed 100,000 square feet of solar panels,
moving the building toward carbon-neutral operations.
diversity, equity & inclusion
We have a long history of women in leadership
from our founding in 1962, with over 60% of
CBH and store leaders identifying as female in
2021. We also advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusion
and belonging. Building on our corporate
commitment to equity, we’ve taken the 15%
Pledge to increase Black-owned business
representation in our products.
ethical production
We’ve adopted the amfori BSCI code of conduct,
which includes 11 principles ranging from fair
wages to health, safety and environmental
protections. We conduct social audits to evaluate
vendor compliance with our code of conduct, and
we’re engaging our suppliers in continuous social
and environmental improvement.
better together
Our climate and community initiatives and our commitments for the future have more impact
when they work across our entire family of brands. Learn more about what we’re doing.
