Soft pastels and round textures celebrate the beauty of imperfection and impermanence in this contemplative still life. Influenced by the Japanese concept of wabi sabi, artist Ksenia Sizaya uses abstraction and shifting perspectives to give the scene an ephemeral quality. Based on the original mixed-media composition, each handcrafted work is made with a mix of acrylic paint and modeling paste that's scraped, combed and brushed to give the work dimension and texture. A dark charcoal-finished wood floating frame complements for a gallery-worthy presentation.
