The rustic charm of Faulkner is defined by its British Colonial origins: handsome crown moulding along the top, traditional ball feet and wooden hasp closures. Plantation-grown hardwood is hand-finished with a rich dark brown stain lacquer and hand-waxed topcoat. Four fixed shelves sit behind double French doors with 24 individual polished glass panes.

Do not recommend
My husband and I ordered this and the faulkner media stand. We had them return it. Once we got it in our living room, it had a really gloomy appearance and almost made our living room feel like the Adams Family. Also, when we would try to move the furniture or touch it, we would end up with black finish on our hands. One of the legs was longer than the other 3. We exchanged it for another set that works much better and was manufactured better.

Great Cabinet
We were looking for a cabinet to use for storage in our home office. This piece is so beautiful and yet provides a ton of storage. Love the rustic look. The glass doors will help cut down on dust; super great!

great organizer
This was purchased as a gift to organize an office/ guestroom. It is really helping to keep office supplies and papers in a dust free space. We also purchased baskets from CB to hold the papers inside.

Love it!!!
We bought the Faulkner cabinet and also the shorter Faulkner media cabinet for an inset area of our "retirement" home in the California desert area. We had tried other furniture pieces but could not find anything we liked/fitted in the space. The cabinets look GREAT!!!!! I love their rustic look and storage. Heavy and made well, we are happy with the purchase.
The delivery people (3) were friendly, careful, and on time.
Another great Crate and Barrell product and satisfied customer.

Love this piece.
We have this piece in our living room. It provides both beauty and functionality. I especially love that the black color creates the anchor the room needed. Inside, I store mostly glassware and some framed photos. The combination of dark wood and glass is so lovely. ( And, the gentlemen who delivered it set it up and took away all of the packing material!)

Practical and Beautiful!
It all begins with excellent customer service. Had a great in-store experience and the item arrived only a few days after the original estimated time. The delivery guys were courteous and respecful. And finally, the piece was in exquisite condition and became a perfect fit to our eclectic decor. The fixed shelves are perfectly spaced allowing for small and large items alike to be displayed eloquently. The doors are heavy and the case can tip so I recommend putting books in there straight away unless you use the anchor (which, I did not). Every piece seems unique and the craftsmanship is precisely what my partner and I were searching for. We LOVE the Faulkner and recommend this case over all else if you're looking for a quality bookcase that has some style.

So excited!
I am using this bookcase in my casual dining room. I finally bought this after looking all over for a dining room hutch to display all my fun stemware. I've always liked this collection, so I thought why not use it to display serving ware, platters, and glassware (and maybe even a few cookbooks, since it is a bookcase after all). This gives any dining area a warm, modern look and feel... especially for young couples who have ditched the fine china patterns and don't need a traditional hutch. Also, looks great with the Huxley dining table!

Handsome Storage and Display
This versatile cabinet is roomy enough to contain and show off my stacks of big books and vintage pottery collection. Best of all--none of it collects dust while stored safely behind the big glass doors. The doors are easy to open but stay firmly closed when latched. There is plenty of room on the top of this sturdy cabinet for more display space that can add even more height to a room. It is a large, handsome piece of furniture to have fun with!

True Colonial Feel!
I wanted my living room to look colonial, and this bookcase became the key piece that gave the room its colonial feel!
To me it is a great mix of modern simplicity and rustic hand-made imperfect look. And its dark stain adds a lot to its appeal, - I assume it's a dark wax, and typical of Indian furniture.
The glass doors add substance amd a lot of sparkle(and practical as they protect my books from dust).
I think it's a perfect piece for my living room and I am very happy with it!

Classic Quality
We bought this for our living room because we are swamped in books. It is a beautiful piece, solid wood and finished to look like it is 100 years old. It is gorgeous, unlike any other bookshelf we considered. Highly recommeneded.

I click LOVE
I took a big risk and bought TWO of these cabinets to fill a wall to make it look like built in furniture -- happy to report it worked!! Added niceties: extremely sturdy--has "presence" and holds A LOT of stuff!! I have over 100 books in each cabinet and it doesn't even look crowded-- plenty of room for pretty vases and family mementos... click LOVE!

Lovely wonderful piece
I spent months online and in local stores looking for a bookcase with doors. I found this and ordered it within a week. Service was amazing - I live in a small town, and extended shipping services were required. Within 2 days of ordering, I was contacted about when the piece would be picked up. Within a week of the piece picked up from the nearest town with a C&B, the movers called and scheduled a date to deliver. Everything was seemless, the piece is gorgeous, and I couldn't be happier.

LOVE it!
I have had my eye on this for months while I shopped and searched for just the right cabinet. We had books stacked in every room of our home. We filled it in no time and it just looks beautiful.
One of the things I was looking for was something that didn't look brand new. I wanted an old world feel and that's what I got.
Its a large piece and really stands out. Friends have come over since and seen it with a huge WOW! response from each.
YES... it is distressed. I don't recommend trying to move it. The delivery boys will place it wherever you like. If you have young children, I would certainly use the hardware provided to secure it to the wall.

Love our New Cabinet!
We finally have a place for our Blu-Rays, DVDs, and books. We love the finish. It was delivered on time and set up perfectly. Came as stated. I just wish I could afford the entertainment center right now!

But for the sticker...
Beautiful piece of furniture...except for the huge (and stubborn) white sticker covering one-third of one of the windows warning about the tendency to tip if not filled sufficiently. Half a bottle of Goo Gone and two weeks of applications later, I'm still working to get it off.
The piece itself is beautiful. I'd agree with other reviews that there is a bit of an odd smell (though it's dissipated over the last few weeks), and the color is closer to black than espresso. Would still recommend it overall, though.

Wonderful, versatile piece
This is one of my favorite pieces I have ever seen at Crate and Barrel. I had originally intended this to be used in our home office as a book shelf, but during the time prior to deliver decided to try it in our breakfast area first. Well... there it will stay!! It looks wonderful and holds all of my favorite pieces of pottery/china/crystal and absolutely MAKES the room. If you are looking for a more refined piece then this probably wouldn't be for you but if you like the rustic, bit more weathered look... buy this!! It is a substancial piece of furniture, coordinates great with our other chunky asian furniture and I can imagine this looking great in many different rooms in the house.. with many different functions. I don't notice the oily smell after the few few weeks and as long as you don't use a wet rag or harsh cleaning products, cleaning is easy. LOVE THIS CABINET!!

Perfect Cabinet
I really love this cabinet! Very deep shelves- it holds a ton of stuff and top is perfect for decorating. It is very dark like others have said-definitely more black than brown, but still beautiful. Very easy in home delivery.
