Ordered this table after seeing displays in a couple of Crate and Barrel stores. We were a bit anxious -- since the quality of the wood and finishes seemed a bit different across store locations -- but no problems with the one we received. The table is well proportioned, of excellent quality and superbly designed. It is the piece that really stands out in a newly designed great room -- both the living and dining areas in this room were newly furnished -- and all who has seen this table remark on the quality of the wood and finish and smart design. Without exception, it is the first piece our guests have remarked upon. I have since ordered the buffet from the same Kipling set. It was a great purchase.

Nice
This cushion is the only option if one wishes to put a cushion on the Kipling chair as the chair and cushion are a unique shape that other cushions do not fit. Luckily, this cushion is pretty and durable, albeit overpriced.

Beautiful Piece of Furniture
Bought this to replace on old, ugly kitchen cart, and it's absolutely beautiful. Very spacious, and I love having the flexibility of the wide drawer.

Love these...
We bought 4 of these counter stools w/ the ivory cushions a few months ago. We couldn't be happier. They are very comfortable and look great in our kitchen. We just built our house and I searched far and wide for months for the perfect counter stools for our kitchen. Our large kitchen island has an overhang that serves as a bar and we needed counter height stools that matched our cabinets. We have dulce/espresso color cabinets and these match perfectly. My husband and I are both extremely picky and these have managed to make us very happy. We can fit a few more bar stools so we plan on getting a few more so that we can bring them out for the holidays when we have extra guests over. Thanks Crate & Barrel :)

I love these
We have now owned these chairs for a year. We were nervous about their durability because of other reviews, but they've held up super well.
We do have one dented chair because someone who had metal buttons on their pants sat in it. Keep in mind that this will happen with any real, softer wood table and chairs - it's the nature of the wood, and NOT a sign of poor quality.
After a year of using these chairs everyday they're still in great shape, and we're hoping to buy more! (we bought only enough to seat while the table is not extended).
We've had no problem with the finish as others have stated.

Fits perfect
We purchased these for our Kipling bar stools. They fit perfectly. They do not shift or slide around. Very comfortable, and look great on the barstool.

Great chair
We purchased four of these side chairs to go with a table that has been in our family for years, so it was hard to get an exact match. But these lovely chairs complement the table beautifully. I love their beautiful lines and their finish!

Dent easily
Chairs dent easily when pushed into table. Would highly recommend purchasing cushions for chairs as scratches show very easily.
Chairs seems lower quality than the Kipling table.

Beautiful dining set!
My husband and I purchased the Kipling sideboard, table and buffet about three months ago. It's an elegant addition to our home and has received many compliments. We have had no problems with the finish scratching - and we have cats! The furniture is sturdy and well-made. I would highly recommend.

Not kid friendly
I wish I'd seen the review from milman517 below. I have a 3 year old and also used a soft foam booster seat and the finish rubbed off. The wood is easily scratched too. Very disappointing because I love the color of this set but I wouldn't recommend it for a family with young kids.

Gorgeous Chairs
About 2 months ago, we purchased the Kipling dining table and 8 chairs. The chairs are truly beautiful and elegant. They have a comfortable arched back and feel supportive. For the first month, we used the bare chairs while we waited for the cushions to arrive. I would recommend buying the Crate & Barrel cushions that go with this set as they fit perfectly. There were 3 styles to choose from and we chose the beige striped ones. We use the table and chairs daily and have not had any problems with the finish or with scratching so far.

Disappointed
Very disappointed with the Kipling side chairs. We bought 8 of these along with the Kipling table a few years ago and have found them to be very uncomfortable and the finish to be very delicate. We placed a very soft foam booster cushion on one for our 3-year-old and the finish on the chair totally rubbed off after just a couple of uses. We don't have the cushions on these as we're certain that they'll rub the finish off of the chairs. For this price we were extremely disappointed with the poor durability and comfort. We hardley use the table and chairs because we're afraid they'll get ruined. Bad purchase and waste of our money for us.

Great Chairs
These bar stools fit wonderfully into our new contemporary bar space despite their traditional design. They are extremely comfortable (I'm sitting in one right now), very versatile, and just plain beautiful. They're well worth the money and they are harvested from a renewable resource- a great buy just like all of our other Crate & Barrel furniture. What could be better?!?!?!
