I'm never buying pre-made ice cream again
It's too bloomin' easy to make wonderful ice cream and frozen yogurt with this attachment! I control the contents, so no nasty preservatives or hormones, and, I don't know how, but the machine does an amazing job of preventing ice crystallization in the batter like I've had with a lot of other makers. And if i ever get another Kitchenaid mixer, it'll work with it. I adore Kitchenaid.

Fab ice cream
I purchased this product recently and made ice cream for the first time! The attachment was easy to assemble, and the ice cream was perfect! I will keep the freezer bowl in my freezer at all times so that it will always be ready!

So, so close to perfect
This is a fantastic ice cream maker. It is easy to use and works great. The only, small imperfection, is that it is large enough to make a nice size batch of ice cream, but because it's large it takes up a bit of room in the freezer. As with all Kitchenaid products, it is well made and works flawlessly.

Great Ice Cream Maker
I purchased 2 of these for each of my daughters for a Christmas Gift this past year. My oldest daughter happened to be here with her family for Christmas so we were able to try this in our home
We did have to plan when we wanted to make the ice cream since the bowl has to go into the freezer for a long period of time, but we were able to find a recipe using raw milk and raw cream(since my daughter is lactose intolerant) and it worked great. The flavor was fantastic and it was easy. Since both girls have Kitchen aids, this means they don't have to have another appliance taking up space. I am hoping that one of them purchase one for me so I will have one also.

Love!
We have had this ice cream attachment for over a year and it has consistently made good ice cream for us! You can definitely eat soft serve ice cream right after. I love that it is big enough to make bigger batches of ice cream but doesn't take up a lot of space! Good buy and fun to play with!

Like, not quite at love...
I like this ice cream maker a lot, and it would be love if it didn't require extra freezing time afterwards to achieve the advertised soft-serve consistency. However, I think that has more to do with the kitchen conditions (a freezer that probably isn't getting the bowl cold enough, and use in hot summers with minimal A/C) than with the actual product. I would still highly recommend this to anyone with the KA mixer.

Great Buy
We love this ice cream maker! It comes with a booklet that includes recipes, which will make great ice cream. We like to make sorbet and yogurt, too. It's so easy - just mix, chill, and churn! It will come out more like a milkshake or smoothie, but after a couple hours in the freezer it's real ice cream.

Love Homemade Ice Cream
I love it. It's really simple and easy to use. It just takes you a little longer to get your ice cream but it's totally worth it. I let a girl from work borrow it and she plans on getting her self one too. She just thought it was amazing and how nice it is to customize your ice cream for yourself.

Customized and Specialty Flavors made easily!
This ice cream maker attachment fits perfectly on the Kitchenaid stand mixer. The only thing to keep in mind is that this has to be in the freezer at least 24 hours before making ice cream... so the hardest part is waiting! Fit the top part to the mixer - this should fit snugly. Then, drop the paddle in. Don't worry about matching it directly, approximate is ok. It WILL move in place and turn. If not, turn it off and match it up. I've had no problems with this at all. I've been able to make specialty flavors like green tea, taro, ginger, and black sesame with this ice cream maker attachment! I would highly recommend this product if you want to make very fresh ice cream and play around with different flavors!

huge!
This ice cream bowl is huge- I can double most of my favorite ice cream recipes! It makes ice cream a little more quickly than my old Cuisinart freezer bowl machine. The plastic piece on the inside (churner?) doesn't always scrape the sides down as well as I would like and doesn't always like when I add mix-ins (it really doesn't like slivered almonds) but those are easy enough to mix in by hand.

Great attachment
Ok so homemade ice cream is not the easiest thing to make, but it's so worth the effort. I really like customizing my flavors and controlling what goes into what I eat. This kitchenaid attachment is great - fits perfectly with the mixer and really easy to assemble and use. The bowl stays cold enough throughout the churn process so you get a thick enough consistency for your ice cream.

Amazing
I have almost every attachment for my KitchenAid mixer, but this is the only one I really use. It's so simple and easy to use that I make fresh ice cream about twice a month. From basic flavors like vanilla bean to grapefruit champagne sorbet, this attachment can do it all. Needless to say, my husband and neighbors are very excited about this attachment! Paired with the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Cook Book, we rarely buy store-bought ice cream anymore.

My wife and I bought this with some wedding gift money and love it! We're always buying ice cream and enjoy making our own. It takes a little extra effort but it's well worth it.

Fantastic Attachment
We bought this ice cream maker attachment to make our father home made ice cream for father's day. If you are planning to make it for a special occasion, just remember you have to store the bowl in the freezer for 15 hours before us. The ice cream's consistency was great, and I would recommend this because it was very easy to use with the stand up mixer.

No more ice!
When our ice cream maker bit the dust, we bought this one -- since we had the KA Mixer and because it didn't require ice/salt. I finally tried it out the other day and couldn't have been happier.
It worked so well and the ice cream was delicious. I used the recipes provided in the manual and they were great also. It so nice to just freeze the bowl and not have to worry about making or buying enough ice to make a batch of ice cream!

Great Product!
Love this ice cream maker! We received the mixer and ice cream maker attachment for wedding gifts and use them to make ice cream often. We just made mint ice cream today. It takes a little prep time getting the bowl frozen but once you do that, the time it takes to make it is really minimal. We've made lots of different flavors and have enjoyed them all!

works great
I would hate to have a whole 'nother machine just to make ice cream, and with this all I needed was the mixing attachment and the frozen bowl (since we already had the mixer itself). So easy to store- I actually just keep the bowl in my freezer so it's always ready to go. it works great and quickly- I can have soft serve ready in about 20 minutes.

Easy but bulky
I love my ice cream maker. We rarely buy store bought ice cream any more. We keep this in our freezer so that we can make ice cream on a moments notice. The only down side is that it is bulky and takes up a lot of space in the freezer. It takes a long time to really freeze (over-night) so if we didn't have space in the freezer to store it I doubt we would use it as often. Excellent for the price. Works well.
