The Story

Steel and glass square off in an architectural design with a zen feel. Sleek coffee table makes the case for less is more with a single plane of ½" tempered glass laid over a minimalist frame of 1½" steel tubing finished in a matte black powdercoat. A great value for a lot of look.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a Good Design We have the same problem with the glass sliding and having the sticky smudges left behind. My husband has replaced the felt disks about 4-5 times trying t remedy the issue. We will try the suggestion of the plastic disks and see if that works. I really don't like this product and have been very frustrated with the design of it. I would like to return it for another coffee table with glass but I think we will have the same issue. I would like to know if the Avenue Coffee Table does the same thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good design Intelligent design is everything. The simpler, the more ergonomic, the better. This table is nearly perfect expression of the Bauhaus aesthetic. While inexpensive it combines quality materials with truly functional design. It combines well with tasteful furniture at both the high and low end. I like the dark finish, although stainless steel might be considered by the maker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid/stylish Crate and Barrel comes through again. I originally bought a slightly cheaper coffee table and end table from another company, to replace an extremely heavy marble and glass table set. Although it was quite beautiful and stylish, the glass was so thin (quarter inch) that neither table felt stable. So I ditched it and got this set, and will be forever happy that I did. The style here is contemporary but unlikely to ever go out of style. And the glass is extremely thick. Very easy assembly. I fully expect this to be my last coffee table ever, at 57 years old, lol. Always opt for ones with heavy glass, it makes the table.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple clean lines Nice table. Simple clean lines...really opened up my living room. Wasn't very hard to assemble...great price. Only negative, as others have mentioned, is that the glass slid and the pads that were provided left sticky smudge marks. I ended up getting some clear plastic discs instead. Cleaned off the smudges and placed those between the glass and frame instead. The glass doesn't seem to shift anymore! And even if it did...these wouldn't leave the marks bc they don't have sticky on either side.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great table, small cons Love this table... it works great in my NYC apartment and the clear top improves line of sight and doesn't make the room appear cluttered. The legs aren't nearly as complicated to assemble as some other reviewers made it seem, as long as you have some basic common sense. The glass sits on top, no frame holding it in and so it does shift and requires some repositioning. It also gets fingerprints and smudges easily, as would be expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally found what I was looking for! This is a very simple, yet classy table. Very clean lines and looks great with everything in my living room. The materials are very sturdy and solid and make it feel much more than the price. Assembly was easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CLEAN & MINIMAL Just got this, had a friend put it together. Very minimal and Zen. Doesn't take up a lot of space in my small condo. Sturdy construction. fingerprints & muck will show quickly, since it's glass. I think it would look even more beautiful if the black frame/legs were a brown instead of black & the green tint glass top was clear. Actually they should make both styles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Table This is a great coffee table.Pros: Despite requiring some assembly, the finished product is very sturdy and solid. I love the clean, simple design. Provides plenty of tabletop space, but the minimal frame means the table does not look too big in our relatively small living room.Cons: Assembly was extremely simple in principle, but required some patience and a little force to get everything lined up correctly because some of the screw threads were not 100% aligned.Other: Glass top is only held on by gravity, which is not a problem for me as it's heavy enough to stay solidly in place, even when I slide it across wood floors for cleaning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it This table is beautiful. The glass is very thick and the table is sturdy. It does require some assembly, but it easy. It is perfect for a small space because visually it doesn't take up much space. I also think it could go with just about any style furniture because of its simple lines.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice and simple overall This is a very nice and simple table. It is simple to assemble although care must be taken to ensure that the legs line up correctly. The glass is thick and sits on top of the frame. This works mostly well but means that it is susceptible to shifting. It would have been nicer for the frame to have a groove for the glass to sit in. Nonetheless, it is a very smart looking table and suits the space extremely well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from clean look This table is nice and heavy with very clean lines. It's made very well with thick tempered glass and sturdy base. Only gripe I have is the sticky pads that go on under the glass to cushion it move if the glass top moves and leaves sticky residue on the frame. I removed them and it's much better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks nice; a pain to assemble Pros: It's a great-looking table. The glass top is a nice touch especially if you have a small living room and want to give the impression of more space.Cons: For one, it's surprisingly tricky to assemble. Each set of legs has a dime-sized hole drilled in them that you have to align with two, thin metal bars that are attached to the table frame. The metal bars have some "give" to them, meaning that every time you get one side lined up, the other side falls out of the hole. It took the better part of an hour just to get the legs on the thing. Also, as others have mentioned, the glass top tends to slide around very easily. The result is that the felt pads underneath buckle and leave sticky smudge marks on the underside of the tabletop.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mix Coffee Table Review The table was easy to assemble and looked great in my apartment. There's not a whole lot to say about the table other than the built quality is excellent. The glass seems to be of high quality and is extremely heavy. I've only had the table for a month so we'll see how it holds up. My only complaint is that the glass simply sits on top of the metal frame and is separated by only these little circular cushion stickers. This means that the glass can potentially move around if enough force is applied to it (i.e. someone resting their feet on the edges of the glass). I would have preferred that the glass top rest in some sort of slot or groove that would ensure that it does move. This is a rather minor complaint. Overall, the table looks very handsome and is of excellent quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great purchase for us! WE bought this table in the store as the floor model so of course we got a great deal - but the best part about it is that is a space saver. The table is large enough to fit everything you want, but because it is glass it doesnt appear to clutter the room. we love it.
